They’re also using destickered Walkers crisps motors to pull their trailers too after the transport takeover thingy they did there.

yes, white mercs are walkers. silver and black are F1,now the european races are finished they will be on haulage.

■■■■■■ hope they don’t fold, got me C1 with em next week!!

Plus I’d hoped by doing it with them it would get me round the 2yr experience issue, as a job offer is guaranteed once passed.

Let’s just hope for all the good folks sakes that someone DECENT gets in and buys them as theres ALOT of family’s at stake if not [emoji20]

Or maybe Williams gonna nip in at the 11th and get the family legacy back in his pocket…

From my own recent experience of working for them through the agency, Stobart seem like one of those companies which used to have an aquarium in their reception area filled with beautiful and colourful tropical fish, and then one day you go there and the company is still going but the aquarium has gone and all that’s left is a patch of dusty carpet where it used to be. You know it won’t be long until the end.

Every cloud and that… maybe, just maybe you’ll end up getting a free C1. You can then happily apply for jobs saying you are ex Stobbies made redundant.

Do any of the Stobart family have anything to do with Eddie Stobart Logistics?
AFAIK the trade name Eddie Stobart is owned by Stobart Group and is used by Eddie Stobart Logistics (which is no longer part of the group) under an agreement which comes to an end soon, after that is they want to use it they have to pay a substantial fee for it, so who’s to say that WS Transportation won’t buy the name and re-brand or form a subsidiary company to operate under the Eddie Stobart name?

As for the hatred of Stobarts, because of them undercutting smaller operators, why not the same hatred for all the other large logistic operations that’ve done the same? Years ago when I worked for a small family haulage company, we lost our best contract to Securicor Omega Logistics, (remember them?)

The Black and Silver ones are used for Pirelli, the White ones will probably be Williams, and the Silver ones are Mercedes, I also believe they transport the FIA trailers round the F1 circuit as well.

I reckon you are on the money.
You can undercut other hauliers if you can do the job properly, if you undercut other hauliers and cannot do the job…Well, we know the rest.
They recently undercut a very good and efficient haulier in my locality, he went on to close down and auctioned everything, then Stobart lost the contract because of total incompetence in every aspect.

It is not the way to do business, because you are “playing” with peoples lives and I genuinely feel that we are getting sick of it all, in every sector of industry…The gap between the haves and have nots has grown to a state where we are nearing anarchy in so many ways…I will be glad to see the demise of Stobart and those that operate in a similar way, as they keep the wages down for us all.

What goes around comes around.

Stobarts, DHL, Wincanton, K&N, XPO, Maritime etc

Always somebody waiting to pick up the pieces, when the s##t hits the fan.

Here’s some cheesy nostalgia

The only actual employee in that video is the old duffer lobbing the parcels out the back of the truck

Of course, they became DHL which in turn became Home Delivery Network aka Yodel…

On a more serious note I wonder what will happen to the 3600 ATI DAF they had in the fancy reception area? Hope it finds a good home, not many left now.

Not many left because they all blew up, they were heaps of ■■■■!
The 3300 was marginally better, but not a patch on the 2800 DKS.
I’d be more interested in the old split windscreen Atki they had in there.

Williams have their own trucks and run their own haulage with Mechs trained as drivers. Walking distance from me, know a few guys that work there and a mate knows the transport manager, asked him to find out if any jobs going but needed to have mechanic skills good enough to be travelling race crew and I dont :frowning: Easier to train a top notch race mech to drive a wagon than teach a wagon driver to race mech

Blimey, that brought back some memories… I used to love that throw-over gearbox… :stuck_out_tongue:

Was that the first of the model, before they put the safety feature on to stop you from going from 16th (I think it was) on the ZF, to 1st in one easy change for the box to fly to bits.
