there’s loads of posts in favour of ESL & a lot more firmly against them , but as a serious question now , would we view the very same drivers & opperation differently if Edward sold Stobart to James Irlam instead of Tinkler & W Stobart ?
would the unfavourable remarks & the sigma of the stobart legacy have died away if the green machine turned red ? or would the same focus have been redirected at the Irlam fleet ?
At the end of the day if the Stobart name wasnt there doing what they have done for 30 odd years then there would be another name out there that would of done exactly the same.
There are many other companies doing the same as Stobarts, but it’s Stobarts who have the big public profile, so they get the attention.
If Stobarts ran trucks in plain white or in customer colours and their Directors were just the normal anonymous suits you get in the other big Logistics Companies then you’d hear very little about them good or bad.

That is true, TDG, Wincanton and Exel have done more damage to small hauliers than Stobart ever did, they have cherrypicked the decent work putting in their own management teams and IT systems

Yeh but the difference is TDG, Wincanton,& Excel don,t bore the harris off everybody by coming on the telly at every opportunity, making out that they are summat that every other firm isn,t, so consequently when they do zb up, they get more stick than anyone else does or would.

Wow I can only imagine what you used to type your reply then, Clever ■■■■
I still think we could (or should) have a seperate forum just for stobarts threads, there’s so much stuff spouted about them on here
one day someone’s slagging them off then another day the same someone is saying how they watched them on the tv, who really cares about stobart? they’re just another company, why don’t we get half a dozen threads a week about nobrot dressingtable?
DHL Wincanton etc dont make a shedload of money from a fan club do they, thats a ■■■■ easy bit of PR from stobarts to make a few extra quid for doing what? Next to naff all thats all

I don’t see what all the fuss is about, typical child bull ■■■■ going over same crap week in week out. Not sure if it’s same posters as I don’t even read some es threads.
I’ve met far worse than most es drivers at work and most seem pleasant and helpful, maybe they take the elf costume…I mean uniform too seriously??
Lighten up guys.
stobart, have been going for over 30 years, have built up a business to what it is today. the trucks are clean and smart, ( and yes even have a fan club ) the drivers are smart, the company is well run, so what more could you ask for from a company like this. There are more and more drivers wearing a uniform today, than ever before, in the old days…it was just a boiler suit, and a pair of doc martens…my company issue a uniform, but its not compulsory to wear it…i for one would work for stobart, and feel proud of the image, and working conditions, and from what i hear, the pay is on average too…and i also believe they are raising the profile for what transport should be across the board…unlike the reality that it is.
