the big green undercutting machine is as popular as thrush!

trying to be a green DHL taking all these in house contracts over hope it fails miserably!

Does sainsburys not own argos now.I thought they did so who is putting all the work out to tender is its sainsburys or argos.

“The majority of the Coventry drivers preferred to take the severance package rather than go and work for Eddie Stobart.”

Despite attempts, no-one from Eddie Stobart was available to comment.

Methinks that the penny has finally dropped at Stobarts that nobody wants to work for them anymore especially with the hassle they have even finding agency to cover places like Goole and Donny. A load of drivers choosing the dole rather than TUPEing over to them must’ve been a bit of a kick in the teeth.

They could remedy the situation quite easily by getting rid of the bullcrap and making the hourly wage the hourly wage and not just an equivalent take home after all the tax fiddles have been applied.

Why would they do that. There remedy is driverforstobart.bg.ro.sk

Is that another high paid cushy in house number the drivers have ballsed up for themselves? Always used to see them doing 45mph on the motorway. Now the Basildon drivers seem to be flying about like nobody’s business. One overtook me on the slip road on to the 127 a few weeks back. I wouldn’t mind, but I was empty :open_mouth:

There is just no stopping Stobart at the moment they are a monster out of control!

It is about time the monopolies & mergers commission looked into to all these contracts being snapped up, if not, it will shortly revert to being like the old days when BRS did all but all of the haulage in the UK with no one else allowed a look in.

Dunno, as predicted they bit off more than they could bloody chew getting into car transporters, baled and run, infallable they aint.

The mmc have no say over this type of growth. It’s seen as organic, winning contracts and building the business. They only stick their nose in if they try and buy other forms of a certain size. I couldn’t see them being allowed to move on a company the size of dhl for arguments sake, but a fleet under 300 o licences is probably fair game

It can’t be true or happening because Unite has said that EU membership defends ‘workers rights’. :smiling_imp:

If it was a choice between a pay off or being tuped over to those crooked bastarts I’d take pay off every time.

Aye their attempt at taking over Ireland didn’t go to well either left with the Tesco work and that’s about it and still no foothold in the North

Hence my point about them tearing around. Wasn’t like that many moons back. According to the link Lutterworth is the last in house depot left

You know its bad when they consider Wincanton the better employer! :open_mouth:

Well they don’t seem too be struggling for agency at Sherburn , the place is over run with them !!

You will have to excuse me while I try and compose myself typing this;

JUST SPOKE TO A MATE AT STOBARTS APPLETON…THEY HAVE BEEN OFFERED A …14P PER HOUR PAY RISE!!!

Christ, that’s the third pair of undies I’ve ■■■■■■ in now.

Check out the suit-babble that woman came out with in the statement from Argos. It’s a priceless example of modern British management. Beam me up Scotty. :unamused: :unamused:

Christ, what the hell do they expect ■■ that’s another £8.40 per week before tax if they do the expected 60 hours ! :unamused:

Coming up the M1 tonight I undertook a Stobbies wagon near Luton. Was surprised to see it was a left ■■■■■■ with CZ plates on. Are Stobbies getting that desperate now that they’re having to look to Eastern Europe? Maybe they’re having to run from there to make up the 250 wagons they lost when their O license got restricted the other month.
