£15 meal allowance…£5 feul bonus…any start time between midnight and noon is classed and paid as days…between noon and midnight is nights…my nightshift usually starts at 1400…it may vary from depot to depot as may pay rates.

Not completely true. You got the actual hourly rate set up fot different times of the day, the highest one is from Saturday 15:00-Sunday 6:00. Doesn’t matter, who you are…

errr…i get top rate from 12 noon saturday…different depots seem to have different rules?
what depot are you talking about??

  1. General fleet driver - day
  2. International day tramper
  3. Rail division

What are those three above all about?

General fleet driver- days,my little bit of knowledge says mostly ambient loads to rdc, wholesales etc,see a lot at tesco rdc though, doing shop deliveries.
I.d.tramper,seeing a lot of these of late working out of tesco rdc doing shop deliveries.
Rail division-sorry no idea

Right, so, International driver, what’s so “international” about his job? lol
Anyone knows what “rail division” is all about?
I’ve seen their trailers with “rail division” on them, but what they do, have no clue.

Truckbling:

Where’s his tie?

I’m guessing there must be a lull in there international work which is why there on tesco shop deliveries or some have been, mainly see them black Pirelli trucks, last month or so,but others as well.
It may be some are over there permanent, you will only get the full sp at a interview I’d of said

International £85 a day ! £30 night out continental £22.50 UK . £85 divide by 15 hrs = ■■? :open_mouth:

Im not sure if the pay structure has changed since I left in march but it was Hourly pay on international then. the day rate was for the glory boys on motorsport jobs. your right with the night out money so Im guessing you have insider knowledge?
I left the job for various reasons but money wasn’t one of them.
dependant on how long you stay away I earnt anything between around £550 to £730 a week.
Cue the howls of "oh you cant count your night out money blah blah blah. "
To which I reply “■■■■■■■■” .

Crick.

I wouldn’t worry about hourly rates etc. worry about what goes in to the bank every week.
Mortgage isn’t a problem they will look at 3 or 6 months payslips and take an average to work out your annual income.

I’d imagine Stobart are no different to any big firm. Come in do your work and stay under the radar and collect your wages.

Exactly!

You never met our new depot boss, his life is ■■■■ drivers off

I’m with KB on this! I left Aveley March 2011 after 3 months on “Rail division”
Easy but very very boring work! Haven’t had a better paying job on class1 since! At least they(Stobarts) didn’t ■■■■ with your wages!
And NO I wouldn’t go back there either! :sunglasses:

Truckbling:
Knew a driver who worked out of the Aveley depot…he no longer does so that must tell you something. Basically, go work for them at your peril, there are many drivers who have the scars to prove it and will be happy to tell you so. Stobart treats drivers like absolute turds end of. Accept that and you will go far. The only way you will learn a decent wage is if you live the job and kiss goodbye to your wife and kids.

Unless you are Mark ■■■■■■■■ Dixon or some of them other clowns of the TV wanting the glory :smiling_imp:
