Stobart drivers on go slow

FLIP:
Think they’ve been on a go slow for ages now. They’re always holding us up along the A43 between Kettering & Stamford as well as across “the vale” on the '46,rarely seem to be doing much over 30mph; in fact the one yesterday between Tewkesbury & the Alcester roundabout didn’t even manage to hit 30! Would’ve taken him out of the equation :smiling_imp: if there hadn’t been 5 lads running heavy between me & him (he was empty or very light laden). Does all seem to be the 'fridges though, ex Innovate contract, that are dragging their heels.

strange this as ROB K was only saying a month/two ago that he had 8 stobart fridges px---- ---- ROAR past him on the a1 through the fog, maybe management read that thread and had a word with the drivers telling them to knock it off :exclamation: :exclamation:
i use the 43 from corby to a1 on a regular basis and most are doing 40 mph[as i do],or thats what my speedo shows, had a few overtake me or pull away from me,ive only ever sat behind one at 30 mph :open_mouth: :open_mouth: [i was fed up with that to be honest] and when i got to barrier i knew why, hell squeeze every last second out of job,so not suprised.the reason there doing 40 mph on there was a copp van[maybe apnr] was seen in layby just before corby,so it obviously gets round and no ones daft enough to get a ticket for a few minutes[includes me],cant comment on roads around alcester as very rarely venture down there.

Hmm, Its rare indeed that I get near to 50 hours on Stobart, more like 65+ yet I’m into my last week prior to redundancy!

ROG:
I can understand why a company would not want to pay for work hours not actually done

I can also understand that a minimum amount of hours should be set for full time employees

Are there many firms which pay for lunch breaks? - I don’t think so but am prepared to be educated on that

I thought the idea of getting rid of trampers was to utilise the vehicles 24/7 in which case that would need more drivers to fill the extra on road vehicle time … wouldn’t it?

I agree about not being paid for lunch breaks…if you can go home for lunch :bulb:

If not, you should be paid from the minute you leave the yard until the minute you return :open_mouth:
