Stobart driver on Wigton to Workington road

He DOES work for Stobart’s mate. Out of that ■■■■■■■■ of humanity…Widnes.

(Although to be fair, Widnes is like New Zealand to scousers).

I’m sure we have all had cars pull out on us when they shouldn’t, and anyone who says they haven’t gotten angry, given it a blip of the horn or got a bit too close to make a point is lying.

I beg your pardon but I most certainly have never got too close “to make a point”. Theres a world of difference to a beep of the horn when someone cuts you up to riding on their bumper. Dont lump them both together

Me either tbh, but there are drivers and there are ‘‘drivers’’

Btw if I did, I don’t reckon even I would be stupid enough to come on here and admit it. :unamused:

Does he do the run to Workington via Wigton by pass I wonder…scratching beard. (btw don’t have a beard at the moment  )

I reckon he does the chippy run in the Transit connect.

Just revived this thread (seeing as I slagged off Stobarts) to say I got word back from Stobarts today to say they are ‘‘taking my complaint seriously’’ carrying out an ‘incident report procedure’ and sending it to their ‘investigation dept’
So I take it all back, they had the decency to get back to me eventually, and even if it is just a pr excercise at least they acknowledged me, of which I am grateful.

Still got a few reservations about reporting this driver tbh, never done anything like it before, but then I just keep thinking of what could have happened to my young daughter …and then I think ■■■■ him.
Whether she was in the right or in the wrong who knows, but bullying tactics are not needed in this job imo.

Wonder if this thread had anything to do with it, or they just take a while to get through to the appropriate dept.

As for grassing up drivers, theres a diff between someone making an error and very deliberate and potentially dangerous driving. Doubt its the first or last time they done this, plus most of my family live in ■■■■■■■ (Penrith, Keswick and Kendal) so would prefer this idiot not driving 44 tons round them either.

I thought of this thread on last week ,a car driver saw me coming down a big dip no one else around ,waited a sec then pulled out ,I lost all my speed getting up the other side so not to tailgate it , after 1 Mile on next hill car stops to turn off ,I blasted the Desilux that long I had a 15 min break building the air back up !

Do you know for a fact they view this forum, or is that a guess.?

Purely a guess, but with its popularity it would be very strange if either someone higher up in Stobarts or at least a person with direct connections to them wasn’t reading it. With a company that size, I’d be rather surprised if they didn’t do weekly searches on the forum for their name.

One of the reasons I don’t say who I work for (although at least 5 on here know) as it would make me think twice about what I say on some posts.
Ok, I aint scared of them, and I do tend to stand up for myself there, but I aint stupid either, and I know they do view the forum, but if it comes out it aint the end of the world, …just means I’ll have to stop slagging them from time to time.

Yes Stobart driver is a knob for his conduct but you’re daughter does not sound ready for the road if she panics. Recipe for disaster, get her some P plates till she gets some confidence.

Not ready for the road? You reckon eh?

Mate of course she is not 100% proficient on the road, she only passed her test just over 60 hours ago ffs.

As for confidence… a prick pushing 44 tonnes a foot of your back bumper blasting his [zb] horns is not the best recipe for getting confidence is it.

Im no being funny here mate but that Stobart driver or any driver has no clue about your daughters ability or confidence levels. That is the whole reason behind P plates, to let other road users know you’re fresh out the gates. Infact there is no time limit on P plates a lot of people should use them even years after their test as their standard of driving is poor. I’m in no way defending the Stobart driver here but if the same thing happened to me I wouldn’t give a [zb] because I’ve become immune to it. If the same thing happened to you I very much doubt you would have made a thread about it. There are a lot of jackals on the road and that is something your daughter is going to have to get used to.

+1

I think the forum would become a lot duller if people revealed their employers in many cases as I can think of plenty of slagging off (often justified) that goes on anon. As long as the pic on your profile is old then they got no real chance also depending how close you are from home to base (thought it was ancient Penrith based beginning with “S” but slightly too light-red).

I did notice Mr EB dropped a big hint in another thread and we all know he can’t stay quiet if his employer annoys him. Always wondered if Stobies figured out who Dozy is…bet there was an entire dept there trying to figure it and shut him up!

I think I can count on no hands how many [zb]s Stobart’s don’t give about what’s said on this forum.

If you mean my profile pic you’re way off mate, it’s a Harry Vos motor, I did both Jed UK and Oss.NL.

I thought they were all over their reputation with the infamous (if even true) story about firing a driver for not wearing a tie and being courteous to other road users etc. If it’s not 100% true, forget the children, think of the Eddie Spotters who’ll all be in therapy soon!

As for Robroy’s pic - yeah got wrong county and wrong country. Think Stamfords (something like that) was more maroon from memory, although still occasionally see them around usually hauling a single large block of stone.

Does the collective consciousness that is TruckNet affect Stobart’s share price?

No. We’re not even on their radar. Don’t flatter yourself.

I once had to request a copy of their tracking after a vehicle was involved in an incident with our stuff on.
I mailed one of the girls at Appleton who promised to mail the depot and contract managers.
Problem for her was she hit reply to all.
She mailed it was us shall I send him a made up one?
Interesting conversation ensued after that.

I don’t see why people tailgate learners. Must like living on the edge, learners are unpredictable! You don’t know if they are test ready or have just started out. They panic, slam the anchors on to make a turn and then bang! You’ve just rear ended them.
