Is there any in the South West ? You dont see many of their trucks knocking around so was just wondering wether they have anywhere down this side of the Country or have the handful of hauliers that are down that way got it sewn up ?
There’s loads of them in Bridgwater and a few transporter out of Sensible in Henstridge. Where you to?
Exeter at the moment, whenever i venture anywhere else in the country theres loads, but if i go into darkest south i only ever see the odd biomass, is Bridgwater chilled or do they do more than that ?
They were in Bridgewater, but I think they got rid of the contract as they could not get the backloads down here

Don’t know if the one at Bridgwater is still active but other than that i would say no there’s not.
Was one in Avonmouth over 20 years ago but it didn’t last too long.
Bridgwater never was an official Stobart depot. They just used to keep a few trucks at Gerber foods to service the contract.
Don’t know if they’ve still got it but Gregory Distribution did the exact same thing so maybe they’ve got the whole lot now.

But that was a back haul, tip co-op Bridgwater,co-op port bury etc then reload Berber, they didn’t give it away from what I understand they lost it,that’s why they gave away a lot of our tesco avonmouth work because there wasn’t enough reloads down that way
I’m surprised Stobart don’t have a depot in the Bristol or South West area it’s a big catchment area especially if you take in South Wales.
Thanks for the replies
Thats what made me think of it Bald Bloke all that area/potential work, maybe the Gregorys mafia keeps them out !
They lost it a few years ago at gerber cushy number as well that!

thats the one mate !!
they got 20+ walking floors based in Swindon on biomass, but those are run by jenkinsons at tetbury along with their own 20 that are now based at chippenham truck stop and a lot of them are now running over the water to france and I believe Belgium got some big compost contract, and they service a contract to supply bridgend power station which I was told 2 weeks ago had been bought by jenkinsons. that’s the only base that I know of in the southwest area.
As others have said, they had a “depot” at Gerbers, had a full time TM there as well, so it was more than a few trucks, quite a few Stobart drivers use to start / finish their shift there; the shunter worked for Stobarts as well.
Sparks, CL James & Langdons all use to load there. I use to pick up 2-3 times a week when I was with CEVA - but that was 4-5 years ago so would have changed by now!
Stobarts had an Avonmouth depot, closed a good few years ago, but I heard that they were renting a bit of warehouse & yard space of others to overnight trucks / loads in. Probably use the big Tescos site in Avonmouth as their Overnight now.
It Is a sad job that they are now intruding like a virus into the veins of England rather than being content with clogging the arteries.
