Where/what contract have they got in Swansea? Is it new or has it been going for a while?
Sorry to start yet another thread on them but genuinely interested.

Get ready for the ■■■■ to come your way. For some reason Stobart is slated on here. Everybody has to start somewhere.
Before anybody starts not got my class c+e yet so am unable to give an honest opinion. But come on when times are hard we all have to start somewhere. I know it ■■■■■■ experienced drivers off/ time served, but how are us wannabe drivers gonna get a start.
I understand they have undercut various companies and screwed them into the ground, possibly sent them to the wall.
From a novice into this they seem willing to give us a chance.
Tbh - I’m not applying. Happy where I am. Just wondered what they were up to.
Also it will be interesting to see how the “welsh haulier clique” who all pay round about the same by what seems to be an unwritten rule, cope with what on the surface appears to be a large employer offering more money.
Really don’t get the hate towards stobart. Surely every haulier should want to aspire to be them? After all don’t you start a business to make money? New fleet, smart uniforms(shame it’s green though), looked after equipment and from what I gather pays well and has plenty of work. Or am I missing something or being naive?

When i worked out of goole depot the equipment was far from looked after
By equipment I meant trucks/trailers.

I think you wanna go and have another drink. Wouldn’t turn a wheel for em. Did a shift on the agency couldn’t see any organization what do ever and a ■■■■■ attitude on dispatch.

+1 ,I just write damage everywhere on my daily check sheet
They are advertising for 4 shunters in swansea on their website.i cant think of anywhere that big in swansea(apart from amanzon) that would require that many shunters.
Yeah - a mate mentioned it last night and for some daft reason asked if I knew what work they were doing up there. I haven’t got a clue and the only stobarts this way on (ish) that I knew about was Cwmbran and Magor, I think, a while back.

That’s probably only one shunter per shift - 4/4 shifts, days and nights
They are advertising for 4 shunters in gourock there is a amazon depot there aswell.
I deliver to all the Amazons, but I’ve never seen shunters in any of them. All the stuff that comes out of Amazon is parcels and small home deliveries, which doesn’t seem the sort of work Stobart would be after.

I can only speak for Dunfermline as that’s the only amazon I do but there is a fulltime shunter in there. Works for currie European uses a normal tractor unit, but he sits about 80% of the day as not a lot of movements as drivers do most of the work.
I’m guessing it’s Amazon. Curries have lost the contract allegedly.
It is for amazon, it will be starting next month and the contract is worth around £1million a year. Curries haven’t lost the contract as they have not long renewed it with amazon.
Just what I was told by two of their drivers yesterday
Could have failed a clause in the contract?
