cyclist beside you at the lights ?
not a problem.
wind nearside window down
give them a quick tap on head with baseball bat to get their attention,
drive off…
Reckon it’s similar to the THIS VEHICLE IS REVERSING type, sometimes found on dustbin Lorries.
Imagine sitting at traffic lights for 3 or 4 sequences…with that row going off.
Even better if there’s a number of Lorries in a line.
Would these bleepers be acceptable between 11pm and 7am? I’m assuming they cannot (legally) be turned off by the driver if he (or she) is indicating.
God only knows

They don’t notice much if nearside cyclist accidents are still happening but if you disable or don’t use an audible warning/safetydevice then you could end further up the creek.
Just an opinion.
Don’t get me wrong my signalling is still legal… just imo not as effective as visual only.
For example, i will sit at the lights ready to make a left turn but will only signal just before i move off. Tell me how that is safer?
Tomasz Kroker was like you. He thought rules of the road weren’t important and he was fiddling with his phone when he wiped out a family. Stop making your own rules up, obey the rules of the road and stop being an idiot or you will hurt someone.
Tell me which rules i am breaking einstein
no more to be said about the general opinion to the oiled up lycra brigade than this…says it all…

if god had meant you to ride a bike, then he wouldnt have invented cars and trucks.
Imagine living or working near a junction with lorries turning left at a regular basis and having to listen to that ZB’in message over and over and over all day long, you couldn’t blame someone if they lost the plot and come out and throttled the trucker - I would.
Bigger brighter indicator lights and big fines for those not using them, (actually that would be a good idea generally, bankrupt BMW drivers), and seriously big fines for cyclist going up the inside of indicating trucks, But a big NO to these audible warning messages, they will pish everyone off and cyclist will still ignore them.

Im not going to sit at the lights with this [zb] on for 40-50 secs to turn left.I thought that was the idea, so that a cyclist or similar doesn’t creep up your inside
If they cant notice a flashing orange light in their face as they approach my wagon they shouldnt be on the [zb] road.
Whats next? Bubble wrap on all the lamposts?
you have just said you have switched your indicators off
I am on about pre nanny-state-talking-indicators.
Keep up at the back

Didn’t know they had talking indicators before the Nanny State.
But ‘yes’ see my post two above, I know what you’re going on about.

Yep agree with all that. I’m literally cringing making left turns in residential area/tight terraced streets at 6/7 in the morning. Deserted.
It wouldn’t matter if you razor wire fence down your inside, a moron that wants to be road pizza can’t be stopped!
And aids that are supposed to help the driver shouldn’t be potentially counter productive, and add to the danger…
Wouldn’t it just be nice if we all just acted sensibly, and didn’t have to choke on all this cotton wool?

Try this one - Road Traffic Act 1988 seection 3; driving without due care and attention OR WITHOUT REASONABLE CONSIDERATION FOR OTHER PERSONS USING THE ROAD.
You wouldn’ expect to pass your test if you only indicated left just before you moved off, would you?
■■■■ the law.
If I find the alarm intrusive…it stays off

Would i or anyone else get a ticket for this?
No… so sit the ■■■■ down
And reasonable consideration is checking my mirrors before moving off sunshine
Yet another thread that gives a good idea of why cyclist/lorry coming togethers are not uncommon. Both sides always know better…
I have a 15 plate DAF and I have this fitted. I also have the corner aid system that thinks I shouldn’t drive within 5meters of anything on my left…
I can turn the beeping down on the corner aid thing but I cant stop/control the “caution, this vehicle is turning left” warning. (somebody mentioned that you can pause it? HOW?
I drive a lot around central parts of London and various suburbs. Mainly schools.
Whilst I do agree with the logic behind it and can see the benefits of giving the warning, it is far too loud and we should be able to silence it or at least make it quieter…
Also, if I were to reverse in a residential street before 0700 with the beeper on, I would be in contravention of some act/code and likely to get a chewing from somebody. But its ok for me to wake every bugger up and tell them I’m turning left?
nuts…
we have 2 vehicles in our yard , both are fitted with the damned things , there is a button which cancels the warning for 60 seconds IF you remember to press it before indicating . on both wagons. however we also have a reversing camera with audio and on the other wagon if you turn down the volume on the screen it also operates the volume on the warning
. sadly mine appears to be wired up differently .
