fred ever do any work for any of them or are they recruiting pm if you prefer not to answer in forum
All the Rock’n’Roll companies do double drives, not all the time obviously. It just depends on what has got to be done on each tour.
Its a great job if you can get on it, and the money is good as well.
thats what i was wondering as in double drive s manning if you have to do that for weeks on end cant imagine it would be good or is it just for a few days till you get to the destination
usually just till you get to your destination, and if theres another long drive after that one you will hang on for that. Some can go on for a couple or 3 weeks. You will be in a hotel and not slumming it with the tour driver.

no i do not work for them i own my own company supplying security and logistical support for the media industry but work along side these companys because i am ethier parking them up or securing vehicles
most of these companies have websites the work is not all year round if you take the facillity route caravan make up wardrobe you will work long hours moves at the end of the day through the night also be a cleaner cleaning mobile toilets famous persons toilets in caravans making coffe etc
the panavision arri panalux are all driven by technicians if they are on set to long then swing drivers are used fron agencey
lays you will be expected to muck in with what ever department you are working all be it cleaning kit off making coffe and no sitting in the cab all day
cheers kindle wasnt sure how that worked
fred have a mate that works for lays and he never does any of that he say s opens back door of truck guys come take all there stuff out he relaxs for day and when they finish they put it all back into truck again he closes the door and thats it unless he has to move truck to next location but that dont sound right to me

thats basically how it happens with R’N’R driving mate. undo the doors, shut the doors.

you will be in at least half hour before the crew jobs will be run out cable for a electric feed off the gen erator to power truck open up unload barrows trolleys to give walking access into truck that is a mobile work shop
then stand by all day no shopping site seeing in case the vehicle needs moving due to it being in shoot when filming
all best plans fail when the director turns the shot around he is the guvoner so you have to make it work
and if they are shooting 3 locations in a day then you may have to load unload hook up cables as many times yes there will be times when you are at one location for a week at a time and things are easier but belive me working on the floor on film set is far from glamarous
