Stagetruck flybynite redburn translux lays harri

i have an offer from Translux.Any advise please? How is it to work for movie industry?

I was a set builder with a pretty big European metal band in 2007. We did 2 weeks all round Europe. We had two coaches and a 18t truck.
The truck was single manned and all he did was drive, open the doors and then go to sleep. We travelled though the night and set up early morning, so we’d arrive at the destination first thing, set up, do the show and pack up and leave by about 2am the next day, then off again. The truck driver had it easy.
The coaches were double manned for some reason and they’d do shifts day on day off.

Suppose it depends on the company and type of work but all the drivers on that tour had it easy as… Just drive and sleep.

spoke to some translux guys they said it varys day to day. Some days mite have it easy and others youll be maxed out on hours. youll get given a time to be somewhere directions from main routes. be prepared to do European work. 3/4 days solid driving with 10plus trucks in convoy was normal

Ok my friend.I appreciate info supplied.Anything about the wages?

Being flexible with time away is a must, you get fed and watered on tour so you can save a lot of money and doing extra jobs like working the spot light will give you plenty of beer tokens.
If you’re looking at mainly music you’re best off trying the kings of that like transam but from all accounts you will play second driver for a while but it’s all hoteled not cab share.

KB Event seem pretty relaxed about putting you in at the deep end, you soon pick it up, and quite a few of the other drivers will help, if your in a quandary about anything…

Cracking way to earn a living, if you have a very understanding lady, or are single.

I have mates on FBN and TransAm, they get about, that`s for sure :sunglasses:

I was offered a job at FBN.

Money was poor, though that didn’t include any extra work.

Also informed that throughout winter I would have to find agency work.

It’s probably a great way of life for a single bloke that lives with his parents. If you have a mortgage etc probably not so great.
