Spot the mistake

Driver Hours Tachograph Laws and Regulations | OPTAC UK Company advertises at Roadtransport.com

How the **** are we supposed to get it right when these guys can’t.
Make of it what you will, don’t forget the parent company makes digitachos :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: .

driving continuously for ten hours is permitted twice a week,

Blimey :exclamation: :exclamation:

thats 2 mistakes then, can you see the other Rog?

According to the directive, drivers are limited to nine hours driving a day followed by at least 11 hours rest.

At the end of the week, a compulsory 45 hour break must be taken.

weekly rest can be reduced to 36 hours if it is taken where the driver is normally based.

:open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: WTF?

To be fair they do try to sort of correct the mistake in the first quote above but then they go and balls that up as well.

the daily rest period can be cut to a minimum of nine hours three times a week

I spotted the 36 hour one, I guess I missed the others    .

Would you buy their analysis software ■■?

Coffeeholics third quote beat me to it

I think they said the other 2 quotes could be reduced but got the reduction wrong -

Do they get more     than me

I thinks they need their website proofing before publishing, or maybe they thought it was correct, I wonder if any TM’s have ever questioned it  .

ROG:

They got reduction for daily rest correct but it isn’t 3 times a week. For the weekly rest they got the reduction wrong and made up some stuff about where it could be taken, hell that wasn’t even correct under the pre April 2007 version of the rules. They also said a rest must be taken at the end of the week which is BS as it can be taken at any time in the week.

Given there are only a couple of hundred words on that page that is a pretty impressive amount of mistakes to get in.

Wonder if they use the same Proof Reader as The Guardian?

Whats wrong with 10 hours continuous driving?

You can do that 7 days a week.

Actually, I’ll be brave here and offer a prize to whoever spots the really big error.

First one to post the correct answer wins, my decision is final.

Given the other stuff on the page I think it’s fair to assume they are referring to EU rules.

Not sure about the really big error but I have spotted another one.

  1. Daily and fortnightly driving limits

They missed out weekly.

With the amount of stuff that is wrong I’m not sure that you can assume they are talking about any particular set of drivers hours. I think they’ve gone to the ‘pic & mix’ counter. But you’re right I was thinking of UK domestic HGV.

By the way, good answer but no cigar, yet

On the ANNEX 1B page it says :

Annex 1B, an addition to EEC Regulation No 3821/85 on working hours and tachographs

EEC 3821/85 is about the tachograph not drivers working hours.

Given all the mistakes on that site you’d have to ask yourself if you would want to trust that company with tachograph analysis :open_mouth:

Hi geebee45, Are we just looking at the page in the link above, or the other linked pages from that also please?

I think they use the ‘drivers regulation proof reading by ROG’ book

Page on the link Dave. I dread to think what we’d find on their other pages.

I’m not permitted to recommend any product or commercial service, but their analysis software, unlike the information on the advertising page is very good at detecting offences. Possibly why quite a few Police forces use it. VOSA has its’ own software that works in a different way as it does not rely on an ‘analysis engine.’ If you go to any of the Truckfests this year all you have to do is ask, only too happy to show you what the VOSA programme does…before I forget, not the answer I had in mind.
