Spardo's New Wagon

49cc, 8 gears (4 each way), No tax, No Reg., No Licence,
Insurance €225   :open_mouth:
Top speed 60k/hr
Ear defenders required
Very cheap 150+mpg?
Could get rear ended by my old mates
Think I need a whirligig on the top :open_mouth:

The Trotters have hit the Big Time !!
Do your feet reach the pedals ,Spardo…?
What are the golf clubs for…?

I love it Spardo!!

I have been promising myself one of these:

As Spardo will know they come from France and by some quirk of EU law they can be driven on a Moped licence for which no test or medical is required - you just have to be 12 years old! Result is that the damned things are everywhere all driven by the blind, the infirm, the stupid and those that have lost their proper licence for being ■■■■■■■ Even restricted to 40 kph they are still a real danger - but I want one!!

David

Looks like a right heap of [zb]! As Spardo is a coffin dodger though, he won’t look out of place in it.

“We’ve had bigger than that in here, Driver”

Good one Harry, but I’m ahead of you, already got one booking for a bit of
publicity. Next stop the boulangerie to see if my bread can be free from now
on, then the butchers, and there’s always that mini-digger I’m about ready to
sell.
> Do your feet reach the pedals ,Spardo…?[/b]
Don’t need to, well, only one, for the footbrake. Everything else is on the
handlebars or on levers from the floor (handbrake & reverse)
> What are the golf clubs for…?
Ha ha, had to look hard to spot those, they do look a bit vulnerable though,
good job it isn’t licensed for Yorkshire, I hear the bus stops are a bit close to
the road there :unamused:
I don’t think it is EU law David. In Britain I know you could drive such things on
a m/bike licence as long as it didn’t have a reverse, but this has got 4!! Here in
France under 50cc cars are called ‘sans permis’ which means you don’t need
a licence of any kind :open_mouth: . Not sure about minimum age limits though. This
is one reason why I was shocked by the insurance, they are considered
dangerous simply because they can be driven by anyone, often
falling into the categories you describe :unamused:

It¡s the same deal, spardo. Here they are called sin permiso though you do need a moped permit. Less officially they are called Tamicoches after the Japanese kidds game Tamigochi

David

Similar sort of thing here in Belgium with those ruddy Ligier cars.
No licence,no tax disc,no number plates just insurance.
And they are only allowed a maximum speed of 45k/ph.

A real pain when you get one of those in front of you :imp: :imp: :imp:

Mind you David,I wouldn’t mind one of those that you have, they look real fun, just like being in Italy

Smart. How many crates of vin will it haul?

Only 45 :open_mouth: :astonished:  This one does 60, a right little flyer, mind you it feels
like 160 :unamused: , what with all the noise and vibration  .
And yes, I know all about the anger generation potential having been behind a
few in my time, which is why I keep well over to the right and let wagons pass
if possible. Don’t want to get shunted into the ditch, and the colour doesn’t
help, am looking for some of that luminous paint to outline it all the way
round  . Reckon that will look really :sunglasses: at night  .
Now I’m getting over the rollover fear (it tilts quite alarmingly on the slightest
slope) it is quite a fun thing to drive. Only got it for the shopping though, idea is
to extend the life of our ageing Saxo by a few years by only using it for the
longer journeys and towing.

Longwayround:
Smart. How many crates of vin will it haul?

At a guess about 38 by weight but at 1.5 cu.metres I reckon it will cube out first,
but as we only buy a bottle or two at a time it is of no importance  .

Put your own thoughts in the bubble…

WHAT were you doing with your other hand when you were drawing them lines Harry    [/b]

greek Holding on the oxygen mask !! :

Should have held it closer :unamused:

BTW, getting the hang of this now but have found out that the 60k/hr I got the
first day was only because I was going down hill :open_mouth: :open_mouth:
On the flat it is 50 exactly :unamused:  .

The billboard has gone now, the wife didn’t think it was dignified enough  ,
and to be honest I was a bit worried about crosswinds, thought I might have to
go to sailing school again and tack it up the road :unamused: .

She handles it very well though considering she’s never ridden a moto before
(everything on the handlebars, see?), but as yet hasn’t braved our steep hill
and rocky drive. The gears are labelled 1N234 but I think it should be CN123 -
that first one is low, this thing could go up the north face of the Eiger :sunglasses:

( Probably has ! ) :unamused:

:open_mouth: I was stuck behind one of those things last week, they should be banned, holding up the traffic an all. You could run faster. :unamused:

Just up the road all the other cars had gone, but not that thing, still doing 21 mph. :imp:

DAFMAD:

Absolutely, ban 'em, 21mph  :smiling_imp: .

Mine does 30  :unamused:

DAFMAD It was Gods way of telling you to take a look at Gitte`s Bar.

I thought, David, that an experienced chap like you might have gone for an artic…

They’re all the rage on Ithaca!!

 Yeah I like that 240, an artic, trouble is that’ll be 10 or 15 mph then. :frowning:
