chris143:
Hi numbum, i agree with Andrew, it looks like margam mountain to the right and goytre mountain to the left, cracking photo though    ,Chris.

I thought it was perhaps taken in BP Chemicals,Baglan Bay.The place looks a bit too modern for Llandarcy
Pfizers main factory was at Sandwich Kent.

This photo came from a Welsh photo source, did they have a place there.

hi numbum,
excellent pictures again, thank you.in the background of the tanker shot is what to me looks like margam mountain.this tanker was probably working in the abbey or bp llandarcy?if my theory about the background is correct.more than that i wouldn’t know as it’s a little before my time, please keep em coming.
regards andrew

Forgot to put this photo on in my previous post.I reckon it could be BP Baglan Bay,looks too modern for Llandarcy  Pfizer’s main place was in Sandwich Kent and I think I saw one in Baglan loading, maybe toluene, but I can’t recall the make of vehicle. This would be 1970 ish.Whatever,it’s a great photo of a good old motor.

Another trip to Jeff Ways has turned up somemore gems!

A ray of hope to save the Mickey Mouse Foden. Spoke to Jeff yesterday and he tells me has had two enquiries to buy her as a complete lump. Both are up country so there might be a delay because of the weather etc. But fingers crossed she will be one of only a small amount of vehicles to ever be ‘sprung’ from this garden of doom.

A line up of part of the Entress of Swansea fleet, going by the Commer TS3 WAGON
this lineup was taken mid sixties, most of the other wagons would have gone by 1968 when testing and plating
was introduced, most of the 8 wheelers did not have brakes on the second axle, and would have been illegal

That would be when they started buying F86 Volvo’s.The Commer Maxiload would have been ok.Great pics LYNXMAN.

Happy new year Dave
Entress experimented with Maggie Deutzs before they went for the F86.
Entress were a good advert for the Volvo F86.
We never had an 86, - we had a F88 and a F10. — regards – Hywel.

pete 359:
here we have a very rare south wales machine.entress transport from swansea were a huge firm when i was a kid in the 1970’s,they ran a very large number of f86 volvo’s,prior to that they had a very early vabis and a couple of early maggie duetz’s,this one is loading channel island tomatoes at weymouth dock.

happy new year lads  ,
here’s a photo of one of entress’ deutz’s,taken from page 6 of our thread.entress also had what was widely beleived to be the very first scania vabis in the u.k?,a left ■■■■■■.my father has told me about it,along with many other 1960’s welsh lorry drivers, who clearly recall seeing it.in the 1970’s it seemed that wherever i went in the u.k.,you would see an entress f86  .lynxman, cracking photos as always mate, keep em comin’ richard, please.

Enress experimented with Maggi Doitsch ( excuse the spelling ) before they went for the F86.

Hi Hywel,
I remember the Maggie Deutz’s of Entress.Roberts of Knighton had one as well.Quite a few from this area drove for Entress, they always took the badges off the lorries, perhaps he thought the drivers would flog them.I remember your lorries, got a print of your F88 and a Scammell coming over the Sugarloaf, done by our mate Alan.
Happy new year to you and your family Hywel.
Cheers Dave
