hi all,
member gah1950 very kindly rang me today.it was another day “in the office” for him, bringing a 777 cat dump truck out of tarmac at south cornelly quarry.as usual graham and the walters ■■■■■■ team made it look very easy  .

another job well done  and thanks very much for taking the time to call me today graham.

Proper job!!! :sunglasses:

This is a great home town photo Andrew.
This thread /site just gets better every day, new contributors appreciating the quality of its content and sharing family memories. It goes beyond the trucks, as it involves people, past and present who have all played a part in this tough business.
Is it me, or is there something special here which gives it the edge over other threads. The fact that Graham called Andrew and invited him to get live shots speaks for itself, and even more so that Andrew obliged. Brilliant, and thanks to all involved.

Paul

Have been busy so have not posted for a while.Just sold my Atki Borderer 240 to a good home up north and have started taking a Leyland Clydesdale tipper apart. It has a 410 blown engine,so should pick her feet up.Cab is Bathgate variety held together by fresh air  Have a good one to put on.Will post some pics next week.Heres some more.Enjoy. ![](http://i889.photobucket.com/albums/ac93/richgriff1/013.jpg)Some more from Llanwern Slag, the boys on tarmac today.Dave Marston with C series,I think it had a 240 ■■■■■■■■■■ ![](http://i889.photobucket.com/albums/ac93/richgriff1/012.jpg)Drivers taking timeout waiting to tip.Natty head wear for the occasion!! ![](http://i889.photobucket.com/albums/ac93/richgriff1/011.jpg)Chris WilliamsFoden,of which there is a sideview on the miners strike thread.Only dressed up with weldmesh.

hi richgriff,
thank you very much  .please continue with posting your brilliant pictures.here’s another from gah1950,this time, what looks to me? like an old ruston bucyrus machine, they were once a world leader in crane/drag line manufacture from lincoln, long before manufacturers with long names entered and conquered the market  .

Have been busy so have not posted for a while.Just sold my Atki Borderer 240 to a good home up north

The aforementioned machine, parked next to my 6x2 unit on Michael Wood in 2004. Didn’t seem to be keeping up with mine on the road run!!

240 Gardner, could never keep up with you.The extra axle always helps  Dont forget GRJ has two extra cylinders to pull.Ha.Ha.Steve Richardson from Garstang now owns GRJ,he has the Billington Atki and always badgered me about the 240.The old girl was not best pleased being kept outside.Glad Steve will cherish her.Ive enjoyed driving that lorry, unless youve driven one cannot explain how youre body vibrates the following morning having done numerous miles. Also bobtail,no trailer!! ouch. The wife wore a sports bra the last time we went out in GRJ.Hoping for a better ride in the Leyland. Don`t tell the wife.

hi all,
a few more from our good friend gah1950.i can’t get enough of these photos  .
