hello john.
yes the quarry is still open and run by hansons, the quality of the stone there is very high as it is used mostly on trunk roads and motorways as an anti skid surface, when i worked there aberthaw cement had their own fleet of tankers, you must have known harry gardner when you worked for billy.
regards graham.
Hello Graham
Sorry you have lost me there, I donāt think I know anyone called Harry Gardner, and I have never worked for anyone called Billy.

Sorry for the late reply been busy in work!. Glad you all like the pics of the Hills Marathon and Hymac trucks, they were taken over at Jeff and Andrew Ways scrapyard a couple of weeks ago and i was shocked to see they were having a a real clearout and after years of being hidden and these beauties were in sight so couldnāt resist taken some phone snaps to post on here knowing they would stir up some memories!!!.Went over for a throttle cable for my K series Dodge (after it snapped on the way to MOT at the ministry in Llantrisant!) and ended up fitting a bedford throttle cable after some modification, Dodge spares are so hard to come by now.
Dodge is now a fully paid up member of the MOT and tax bracket at last!!!.Got more photos to scan and upload including a Mobile pit winder Scammell Crusader in NCB colours and NCB F7 8 wheeler tipper which were given to me at the Tonyrefail classic car show.
Well done matey in getting the Dodge through its MOT, brilliant! Just found another Dodge K in the form of an ex Newport Fire Engine on a T plate in West Wales, great stuff
