Whats the old timer behind the fence? a Dennis?
komatsu 450:
This TK was originally operated by Rhymney Valley District Council, would of been maroon in colour and if I have the correct reg it was driven by John Mcoughlan. The fleet from Rhymney to Caerphilly lost their own town livery mid 70s, when it went to orange, and the buses went to yellow and brown.
Cheers Paul
hi all,
sorry not to have posted much lately as we have been very busy at work.though the thread has been doing very well without me of late ,today (monday) just returned from the excellent 2010 lar truckshow near the french belgian border.my mate danny thomas and i met up with trucknet member volvof16man at maidstone services on friday morning and we all had an excellent time with good friends, boiling hot weather and some outstanding trucks.
this outstanding f16 is owned by my good friend keith storey from newcastle upon tyne.we caused quite a stir motoring across northern france and belgium.this truck has been all over europe and beyond many times in the past, when owned by peter roff and then peter harding from west wales.

here we are both parked outside europe’s largest truck accesory’s warehouse, delrue in anzegem belgium.truck customising is big business in mainland europe.
my pete 359 parked next to the outstanding scania 620 owned by my mate philip peteryans from merelbekke near ghent.philip speaks excellent self taught english with a welsh accent ,he and his charming wife sophie were once again wonderfull hosts and made the welsh/geordy contingent feel most welcome.
just some of the 400 plus trucks on display.
these early model f88’s really caught my eye.
europe’s most powerfull truck, this week ,is the all new 17 litre v8 730hp scania.
i didn’t realise i had taken this photo, until i came home, must have been the belgian heat .philip “the mrs” petereyans and on the left keith “bonnie lad” storey.
parked up in ostende amongst the hundreds of east european artics was this old battle worn e series erf.she was waiting for a trailer to come in loaded for germany and it’s bulgarian driver explained that he travels all over europe with it.
also seen at ostende was a humphrey’s daf.
this morning keith took advantage of some slightly! cheaper than the uk, belgian diesel.
as is so often the case the last few years every truck on the boat (apart from us) was eastern european registered.
