Thanks for sharing the info on the 143h, it must surely have been the last of the three series because cadzow i remember had a 144g 530 with a very similar index.

yes it was a cadzow unit great truck just a little low geard for 56

Steetly had a big Quarry in Taffs Well nr Cardiff they had a block plant there as well as a quarry . This photo is of my brothers first block lorry on hire to steetly

An update on Edgar Williams Ltd Cowbridge. I called to see my old mate Peter Hiscock last week. Peter started with Edgar Williams in Feb 1962 he was driving a leyland comet 90 in those days.He bought the company out in May 1979. It was run in Edgar’s name until 1984 when he changed the name to Peter Hiscock Ltd.Peter retired 30th November 2001.Regarding the story of the Rolls Royce car Edgar sold it to somebody in Neath.
