This is a picture of Malcom J Jones’s 164 580 Classic, brand new in 2004 one of the last batch of 4 series sold by Silurian.
6 years later & the vehicle is still on it’s original clutch & brake pads. :slight_smile: Drivers & theirs Drivers huuh!!! :slight_smile:

Our old Wrecker after being rebuilt, with Fleetwheels finest quality engine components the recovery equipment was off a knackered old Ford D series no expense spaired :slight_smile: what a luvly machine though.

Took this shot today whilst climbing up towards Baverstocks on the notorious A465 beetween Merthyr and
Aberdare with a gross weight of 140 TONS.
As i said previously it doesnt matter what is pulling the load the mpg will not vary very much.

NEWPORT. i seem to remember MON TRANSPORT running out of the ORB WORKS.MIKE PROSSER TRANSPORT. (he was transport manager at EDWARDS)I WORKED FOR HIM FOR A WHILE. DIXON BOOL ,CARDIFF. As you mentioned Edwards of Lydbrook, there was also Richard Read of Longhope as well as his brothers Harold end Fred who all had fleets, Fred operating from Hereford, I think there were six brothers all in transport. Two still operating.
Doe,s anyone remember going into BOCM and Spillers at Cardiff and Avonmouth docks in the fifties and sixties also Barry dock.

Hi Richard,
My sprinter is a five cylinder 160 bhp machine,which goes well,but the Scania V8 620 of Graham’s takes some beating looking at those dials. :wink: :smiley:
