Hi s gates 87 would you have any of Western BRS when they started
the Rockwool contract? X REG Scania 82s mate, cracking photo’s thanks,Chris.
Great pics.
Hi Simon great pics. I have a couple of questions for you.
Do you remember a 143 that used to based in telford trucks yard 6x2 rear lift tandem wheel on an F reg plate belonging to Robert ------? from Taff Wells.
It was white with a blue chassis and stripe. This would of been about 1990/91, there used to be an old transcontintal there also, which was red white and green.
Did you ever work with Allan ---- who was the service writer/foreman late 80s.
Cheers Paul
G’day,
Some great old Scania pics there.
Chris143 mate,he’s an old pic of a BRS Scania, not an 82 though mate. I took this in Tiverton,Devon, sometime in the late 80’s.
Hope it’s of interest.

Nice photos from the show Andrew, thanks for sharing them.
Is this a TK cab on a Km chassis, or just a KM wing? Looks a bit wide to me. She looks nice either way.
As a kid spent many a Saturday with my cousin and grandfather at Abergavenny market, buying and selling sheep and horses. The best part was observing all the livestock trucks and tractors with tralers.Regards Paul
Could be an ex electric board TK,or some other utility,by the wing and clearance.
Cheers Dave.I reckon this was a KM tipper, restored with an easier available TK ex-army cab. Still looking at the crane which we all seem to think is a Thornycroft. Good to see sixties & seventies stuff again after a little break.
Hi Malcom,
You are right about it being a KM ,because it’s got the hinged flap behind the door above the wing, which the TK didn’t have.I drove both, should have spotted that earlier.
Cheers Dave.
You are wrong about the flaps all TK had flaps behind the cab thats how you check the oil and water.Dai cap. I had TK wich was a 14 toner with 10 stud wheels and 466 engine E reg .
Thanks for that dai cap, It’s been driving me mad trying to remember. I new I had lifted flaps on a TK to check oil and water.

Simon thanks for the reply. The 112 is a different truck, and owner. If I could remember the guys last name I am sure there would be a photo of it there.
Allun Edmunds, was a tremendous fitter well respected in Cardiff, a really knowledgeable person, Its over 18 yrs since I worked with him.
Congratulations on completing your apprenticeship, no doubt the title diesel fitter is surpassed by technician.
Keep the pics coming.
Cheers Paul
hello paul john.
i must totally agree with your comment on allan edmunds, some years ago he relined a 144g double drive for me while i waited all in 3 hours, allan always gave me the impression that he was an old RAFfighter pilot with his handlebar moustache,Bob Penrose lost a good un when he went.
regards graham.

Cheers Dave.
