One of our contract hauliers Rydian Harris with the worse lorry he owned

hi anthony,
i didn’t know rhydian had an fm volvo.last time i saw him he was still running an r cab scania, what’s the matter with the volvo? at a guess i would say it’s what we call in the trade …21st centuryeightous!or to put it another way “the computer said no”,go down the road these days and all you see on the back of tilt bed transporters are vehicles that are often less than 4-5 years old with an ecu management problem.remember if you want reliability buy something old and uncomplicated.

Andrew, were you aware that this truck was posted earlier in this thread in its later life with Walls? It was lengthened and had a hiab, slidedbed and second lift added to become an accident unit a role it performed for many years.

There was a funny story about one of these half cabs in artic form in one of the mags, two lads were hitchiking and one of these pulled up. The driver said the look on the lads faces was of total dismay! Like as to say “What sort of luck is that, catching the only half-cab around?” The two lads actually rode on the bonnet to the next best place to get a ‘proper’ lift!!

Does anyone remember the half cabs running out of Craig-yr-esq quarry on the road up to Ynysycow? (Sorry, Ynysybwl.)
