Hi Abdrew,
Used to see loads if Griif Fender furniture lorries on the Brecon to Leominster road in the 60’s,they didn’t hang about,it was a regular thing to see one of them through the hedge in the winter.
Cheers Dave.

hi all,
went to port talbot this morning and it’s good to see the old joint motorways yard being used again.w. doyle transport are in there now.owens left some time ago.

talking of owens i also called in there and saw some old friends from the joints days.

I worked for Archbolds distribution,Morley,in the
late '60’sGriff Fender’s 4 wheeler pantechnicon was on the doorstep every Monday morning with full load of Addis for our distribution network.Don’t know if he ran up Sunday.

owens have astonished me,in a time when many firms are ceasing trading, they just continue to grow and grow.though it’s surprising how friendly the bank will be when you owe them alot of money.

this is the yard shunter! pretty upmarket shunter i thought!!!

Great pictures again .Keep them coming in . Yes its nice too see that joints yard is in use again. If you go too the Shropshire show i might see you there .Tony

ok,so i know randolph transport who own this man are from scotland not wales, however, last summer this man and a foreign registered merc were for around 3 months based in swansea dock running wind farm sections to west wales doing two trips a day five days a week.if you got caught behind them once they were the other side of carmarthen west bound then you would have a very long wait.

hi neil,
yes  and also one of those yellow chevron signs on a black background that even stevie bloody wonder could see.usually the big problem with bridge bashing is the bridge inspection,if the bridge has moved as happens sometimes when hit with a loaded container then that can cost a fortune!especially if its a railway bridge.sorry martyn,i have no idea who was driving, tdw have all kinds of auto box muppets these days.
regards andrew

Here’s another picture of the Randolph Transport MAN when it was new.The firm’s owner was in the IOM last year and e-mailed me a few pictures.

Aye Harry,it cost a bob or two that motor, not sure if he lets the regular driver take it home  He’s coming over again this year so will get some more pics off him.
No good me being on that windfarm job - where could you park one of them on a dodgy?
Here’s another one of his:-

Are there any lay-bys long enough? :grimacing:
