As you may know Shones hauled from Shotton to South Wales regular, this Foden S83 was driver by Trevor Antrobus, who had a striking resemblance to Amos from Emmerdale!

Another Sed atki, DLG 858S, driven by my good mate Ken Arrowsmith, was written off on the M1 some years later, she had a 265L rolls, and hauled from Shotton with a 33’ york coil trailer, this was taken when she was new, in the yard, on “the wash”…good days indeed!

Day cab F88 - 290, driver or should I say piloted by Tom “Tommy” Wilson

the yard 1978

another regular on the north / south wales steel run were caddies

not quite a steel haulier, but we also carried bricks from Buckley, Lane end work, regular driver Bob Holmes had this from new, previously had the AEC in previous photo

other haul;iers included Williams bros, Alltami, and Herefors, this 111 was new in…197…

classic evening shot!

last one for today…is it real or classic restored, TNT ran out of Llantrisant, and had a big fleet of Marathon, not as many as Joints though eh, coops!

It must be classic restored, I drove that truck when it was new and it belonged to Richmond truck rental Smethwick, fitted with a 250 ■■■■■■■■ It did a lot of work with them and I wouldn’t have thought TNT would have bought a clapped rental truck for their fleet !
