hi bewick
i sold that erf in june 2000 to john thomas who then owned ken thomas transport wisbech.she had the fairly rare 14 litre 250hp ■■■■■■■ and a 9 speed fuller.she went well, though was very noisey inside the cab.last i heard that someone called taylor? from the manchester area bought it.
regards andrewThanks for the Info Andrew . I only ever ran one cu250 in a '75 sed-atk sleeper which was aquired via a firm I took over '76 but it was a thirsty motor so we got rid in Jan 77 and replaced it with an F88 !! Cheers Bewick.
hi bewick,
i’m looking at a photo of rec 451r right now.

Hi Andrew just seen your comment on one of my F88s ! was it in its origional cream/green /silver or had it been repainted red & white ? It came new onto the K.Fell fleet in Sept 76 and driven Lenny Richards and boy could he get through the work .He regularly completed 3 round trips a week which entailed 1st leg Milnthorpe to London tip.2nd leg reload at Reeds Maidstone for Hatlepool up and tip.3rd leg re load on Hatlepool dock for Milnthorpe .No dead milege there boyo !! all that 3 times !! But one week the other top man on Fells Alf Bellamy ( R.I.P.) did the 3 round trips and then shot down to Aintree to pick up a load of new 45 gal drums and back to the depot at Milnthorpe on the Friday afternoon . All sheeting & roped aswell > Cheers Dennis.

P.S. Andrew we also had the sister F88 REC452R but this tractor had a number of drivers on it during its time on the Fell/ Bewick fleets !! Dennis.
a906 vep was as i remember j.r.'s first 38 tonner,a twin steer 401 with a 320 ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ by gethyn owen who i think now drives for owens and lives in france? this picture taken outside cargo van 1985.
the front of j.r.'s landmark yard 1985.
in 1985 when j&m transport finished, most of the management and staff went to john raymond’s to work, including ward jones who is seen here in france in his then new 401 b596 cep.
ward jones tipping colour coated coil in auxerres summer 1985.
calais 1985,that 401 looks out of place amongst all those foreign motors!
