during the winter of 1986,alan evans a very experienced driver who has had his working life behind the wheel had a very bad accident in 10y on the then newly opened m25.alan was on his way to dagenham with coil when he got tangled up in a smash that involved over 20 other vehicles.usually alan’s daughter lisa went with him as it was school holiday time, however this was a night drop so fortunatley she didn’t go.
any passenger sitting in that cab, might have got hurt!!!

the fl range has got to be my least favourite volvo truck ever.they were pig ugly with no room and the widow only rolled half way down then stopped.huw and eurof owen liked them though, they ran dozens of them.i have noticed them starting to appear in the classic truck shows,fl’s a classic truck? says the man with the noisy ,shiny yank tank!
I had several fl10’s when i lived in Telford they were very poplar with big firms wer’nt they ? as you rightly say they were pants driving them was ok and the vision was good but away a week at the time was no fun

for anyone who was wondering what this truck originally was.david a. davies who’s tippers featured several pages back tells me it’s a guy bigj tractor unit with an experimental v6 ■■■■■■■■■■■■ was nothing but trouble,i guess that this truck died very young and that is how there was so little left of it when i took this photograph back in 1996.
Hiya Andrew you sure know how to wind an old Big J operator up !! that mess should have been cleared away years ago the cruel b******s !! I believe the V6 ■■■■■■■ was intended to have been the standard engine option in the BigJ when it was launched in circa 1964 needless to say it was an unmitigated disaster and was quietly dropped ! So much for Jaguars interferance in truck building and design !! Regards Bewick.
