Hi Alan,
Good luck with the move.Don’t know if you’re aware? Ron Evans from Port Talbot passed away this week.I’m fairly sure he drove for BRS in Bridgend during the early 80’s.
Regards Andrew.

hi alan, give us a call when you get settled in, we havent moved far, geoff
This 81 was new to Dai Page, but down the line I’m sure that Ron Evans would have driven this motor. Without the side guards the trailer looks long!
New to Victor the Pole and Mervyn Bater on days, coupled to a Rockwool trailer. This was one of the fastest in the fleet.

Hi all,
A few here from Rossers of Pontlliw,Also a firm by the name of Harries? May have been from the Pontardulais area? Some real oldies in the fleet line up shot………
Hi all. Andrew nice old photos.
Funny seeing Tony Morgans SCAMMELL’S as there are a few videos from Gaydon showing a SCAMMELL, VOLVO F10 and his DAF.
Your old Merc is in a few also, Paul O’Callahan mentioned you in one interview. Huge turnout this year, have to make it there one year as it looks a cracking show.
Unfortunately due to my stretched Achilles tendon I had to cut my visit to Britain short, but had a good time, so looking forward to the next visit.

Hi Paul,
The Morgan family has a lovely collection of vehicles,Including a beautiful full rally spec DTV Chevette that we repainted for them back in May.The big Merc was at The excellent Retro Truck Show.Sorry to hear about your tendon.Get well soon mate.
Hi all,
Some great South Wales road haulage history here. I think the UNIPOWER might have been working in Hecketts at Llanwern? The TK coal lorry was from memory owned by Nelson’s Transport of Port Talbot.
pete 359:
Hi all,
I’ve found most of these,Somewhere online……….
The pictures of the yellow Fodens and 400 series Atkinsons must have been taken at the selling off of the lorries the BRS didn’t take when they took over the Transport from British Coal in 1987.
I have probably worked on all of them at one time or another.

Cloth cap,
Good afternoon Bob
,Now I know who you are. If you remember I spoke to you briefly on the day of John Raymond’s funeral.
Regards Allan EvansGood morning Allen
Yes you are right we did have a chat at John Raymond’s funeral. I decided to sign up to the group because I believed I new the name of the old gent who worked the fuel island, in later years my uncle, Horace ■■■■■ worked at Bridgend BRS as yardman/fuel island attendant.
Good old days.
Regards Bob
Good evening gentlemen,
Clothcap ,Thank you for registering and welcome to our thread. Here’s a nostalgic image,I found online.Possibly taken during the early 1970’s?
Regards Andrew.
Good afternoon Coop,
The photo of JR’S yard was probably taken when I worked there.
Looking at the photo there are some loaded trls near the garage door and one appears to be loaded with mt cages for the Ford Axle plant in Swansea or they may have been for Cam gears in Resolven. Memories !
Cheers, Allan
