I reckon that top pic was taken in Morocco, judging from the clothes and the architecture. IIRC Volvo ran a few publicity pics of that blue and white lorry (or one like it) on test in that North African country.
Hi all. Just noticed we were getting close to the bottom of the page.
As usual we are super busy at work. All hands on board. It’s my 20th year working for a U.S. Mail contractor.
This year is the most disorganized yet. Sixty plus trucks in line waiting to be loaded/unloaded or as in my case both at the same time. Some extra trucks drafted in for the Xmas rush have been waiting 18/24 hours. Many are team units all thankfully being paid by the hour as they are on the clock from when loaded to being unloaded.
However a huge increase in cost for the Postal Service along with waiting times at both ends for dedicated contract routes, and service failures on date/time guaranteed priority mail.
This is the time of year they should be profitable, yet couldn’t organize a ■■■■ up in a brewery.
Christmas comes every year with plenty of time to plan, frustrating to say the least, and probably have another six weeks of this mayhem. Patience, patience!
Hopefully everyone here is busy too.
Hi all. Andrew I never new CVH ran an ERF, usually Transcon’s and Scanias. Perhaps Rowly will know if Gordon is still about. Quite a character. He rented from us at Gullivers, let’s just say he made my job a little more interesting. Quite a while back now, but have good memories of haggling over money with him.

That B-series ERF was left-hand drive and did Middle-East. Here’s a picture with Chris Hooper and the other driver.

That’s my Dad - Ron Slater - he had that ERF for a few trips after the Transcon (VTX310S)
