Denesloes? Rare Dennison 8 wheeler
Hicks of Newport 3300 DAF Space Cab
Smith’s Enterprises Scammell
Trucknet member EC14.
Thats a rare pic like you say Andrew of the Dennison 8 wheeler. Not sure how many would have been built.
Heres a LDD featuring a mighty Transcon.

Hi Dean,
Thanks for sharing that article. That photos of them parked on The Sugar Loaf is a real favourite of mine.No South Wales hauliers thread would be complete without these pair.Out with the old? And in with the new?

I think that Denesloes was a firm ran by Clive Hughes after Hughes Haulage was sold

Hi Ianto,
Thanks for that,I vaguely remember Hughes Haulage,Didn’t Owens buy them out? I’m half sure that there was a connection between those two firms at some point.
Regards Andrew.
Hi all,
A classic shot of an Abernant Borderer and York tandem. An iconic truck from my childhood, I’d love to have one! Really wouldn’t want to go very far in it though!
Hi all,
A couple of classic shots here, all found online. No idea whom took them,Even the south bound Abernant Transcon in Leominster lay-by.It says Chepstow Chap, though as we all already know only too well, that means it’s Bill, Geraint or god only knows who else that likes to talk to themselves in and around their multiple Trucknet accounts …
Mr Steel kindly contacted me earlier, with the sad news that former Joint driver,Tony Kinsey had passed away at 58 years old.More recently Tony had his own truck, running out of South Cornelly Quarry.

Hi all. Andrew as a teenager I regularly saw a Hughes 4 wheel Leyland Boxer/ Mastiff box van up and down the Heads of the Valley road. Light blue in colour, iirc someone mentioned they did work for Llanelli radiators.
Seeing Geo Beer, does anyone know how Dai Bootsy is doing?

Hi paul,
How are you doing? Great to hear from you mate.I was told only yesterday, there’s the decaying remains of a Hughes Crusader still in Rush Green Motors. As far as I am aware,Dai is doing ok,Though sadly his eye sight is failing him.
Regards Andrew.

this one looks fully freighted with alloy frag.
Wow, not sure when that picture was taken, but I do know that we were using those trailers in the early 90’s…
Fold the sides down to load tin plate in Trostre or Ebbw Vale, run to Upton (Poole) or Southall, tip and put the sides back up, then swap for the trailer loaded with scrap, back to Llanelli to tip, and reload Trostre or Ebbw Vale. Start of each journey, get underneath to adjust the brakes…
Once came back from Southall with only two drum brakes left, the other two had disintegrated along the M4 somewhere.
I started in 1993 with Andrew when that side of the business was David Thomas and Son. My first truck was the Ford Cargo day cab with top sleeper… cant find a picture of it, started out with it running open top 20’ containers to Onllwyn, Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen and a place near Kidwelly.
Thanks Graham.Hope you’re well mate.I’ve not seen an RE wagon for ages. An SK Eurocab Merc here,Parked at Outline Upholstery in Pontyclun.Medalion Furniture, driven by Colin The Greek.
