Andrew / No the one that blew over was outside our offices up on the beachfront it had completed a lift in the Abbey and was due to be shipped to South America it was cut up on site never to work again . Early eighties Joints did a lot of work for Grayston White and Sparrow moving cranes all around the UK .

Hiya,
Thanks Andrew, “a touch of the dementia’s” I do remember now, I always
fancied a go in one of them, is it all ready for go or still on the “stocks” ?
Hi All
Re: GWS, When at Jolnt’s I did a fair amount of work with them, a lot of it out of Alfreton but also local work as well. As Ianto says Joint did a lot of work for them. One job that comes to mind was a site job in the Abbey involving iirc a Manitowoc crawler crane. The crane needed to moved from one end of Central rd: to the other in a westerly direction. To save breaking the jib down they decided to get me to back a forty footer under the end of the jib and chain it down. The driver a West Wales man named Ceri aka Bush Baby then pushed me the length of Central rd:. Apparently he drove the Manitowoc when it was on a rig in the North Sea.
Good old days, not so many rules and regulations.
Cheers
