Hi all, Andrew is that the BRS yard off Swansea road. Looks like the Thorn (EMI) building above it. Iirc, its where the old brick works were.
Regards Paul.
hi all,
here’s one from the day job.a local operators xf space cab sustained fairly heavy rear damage.so we had to change the whole steel roof.had this been a super space it would be a plastic bonded (non welded) part.
the complete new roof panel.one of europe’s largest distribution specialists collected it for us from eindhoven and somehow lost it for 12 days, it was eventually found, at a warehouse in exeter and was then delivered to us.
pete 359:
should of replaced it with the super space roof

Hi all,
Thanks to this threads loyal supporter gah1950 we have these photos of Walters group new 12 plate 620.
hi andrew why on earth would walters not buy a 730 v8, considering the weight that it runs at?

hi bazztrucker,
how are you mate? oddly enough,i asked that very same question when i was told several months ago about the new truck.as i recall graham told me that you had? to have opticruise (auto).no thanks so another manual gearbox 620 was ordered
.also as you may already be aware, the 730 is a totally new engine,so with the best will in the world it could have turned into a very expensive experiment.can’t say i blame graham and who better placed to spec.a heavy haul scania than graham hillman.i can’t say that i am a fan of these latest generation of auto’s,though the reality is that there are a generation of drivers now in the industry whom have never used a manual gearbox
is that progress
regards andrew.

hiya,
Not a worthy load for such a canny motor, must be a “running it in” load,
little more than “cab traffic” for a machine of that calibre, would love a
go in one like it, wish I’d had one in the 60s when I moved a few canny
lumps about with nothing more than a Leyland 600 engined thing but fair
play the gearing was right and it would literally pull a house down (slowly).
thanks harry long retired.
HI ANDREW, AS SOON AS I POSTED THAT COMMENT I REMEMBERED THAT 730S ONLY COME WITH OPTICRUISE. NOT REALLY SUITABLE FOR 150 TONNES PLUS!! SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER REALLY, AS MY SON DRIVES A730 ON LIVESTOCK FOR GILDERS TRANSPORT. HAD ADRIVE IN IT AFEW WEEKS AGO, AWESOME!!! GILDERS NOW HAVE THREE 730S.
continuing with walters group,i saw former owner driver rob brown in south cornelly last tuesday.
i looked under the cab and was amazed at the amount of oil all over the back of the engine running out of the centre of the vee,a few days later i heard she was in scania’s with a blown motor.
