a 111 working for hoover at merthyr.

Hi all, Andrew iirc it was the late 70s early 80s when BRS took over all of Hoovers distribution. It was strange seeing different vehicles pulling trailers from a long time private fleet.

Regards Paul.

The Hoover fleet fo AECs was always kept immaculate . Joint Motorways had a couple as shunters . regards keith

Hi All

BRS took over the Hoover fleet in 1979. I left the fleet at this time and went as transport co-ordinator for Midland Oil in Ebbw Vale, the earlier photo shows John Smith standing in front of a 111. John was the last driver to join the Hoover fleet.
Has anyone got any photographs of the Mandators Hoovers ran ?

Alyn

Hi Rowland.

Your Dad probably finished with Hoovers in 68/69 when they ceased direct deliveries an moved on to the bulk distribution via depots. A lot of lads were made redundant then.
Know Cliff very well. Did not drive for BRS. When Hoovers made us all redundant I went to Midland Oil in Ebbw Vale as transport co-ordinator. That was the end of my driving days.

Best Regards

Alyn
