Dai , that big Scania looked good .Afternoon Jakey,
The 111 would have had a good clean by Bill Blake before the competition and i had many a run in this motor.
It out pulled all the other 111,s in the fleet and 1 very early sunday morning my late dad give it the gunnels.Question for Andrew did Ron Howells end is driving career with Taylors of Martley.
I am sure i knew him.
He would tip Melton mowbray on nights back to Taylors yard and bring empty Nacanco beer cans to tip in Caldicot for the Magor brewery.
A few years ago he done the Calor Gas job for Joints?
DaiHi Dai,
Tbh with you,I am not 100% sure what Ron did after Joint finished? I know Ron’s son mike drove for Taylor’s,so I think you’re right Tbf.I will ask Mike.
Hi Allen,I am sorry I don’t know where that Hoover photo was taken.
Regards Andrew.
Yes Ron Howells was driving for Taylors when he passed away
Regards Chris

Roy did have it later and JDW 296W also arrived ,a 81 day cab new to Dai Page.
The other 111 sleeper was new to Mike Evans and then John Ellis MLJ 962W.
I never knew Roy and only ever saw him from a distance but i am sure he had a slight limp.
They were the 1st general haulage sleeper cabs at the depot.

Evening Alan hope all is well?
I must be mixed up because Mike Evans had MLJ with the TIR plate on the front.
I always remember JDW having the welsh flag motif stickers on.Well i didn,t work there at the time but it seemed as if i did.
A few weeks ago Andrew put a driving school scania on here and i have a picture of its original colours and i believe based at a hampshire depot.
Regards
Dai
