Hi all,
Thanks to everyone who was able to support the brilliant 2016 porthcawl truck gathering.with just over £3,000 raised for the RNLI,the organisers really did work hard to create an excellent family show.i would especially like to thank the three good friends of mine who had brought their trucks hundreds of miles to attend.

Waterton road.

Brings back memories best canteen going . Ian .

This is for Chris 143,the other Brs Bridgend Marathon brand new to Malcolm Hall.
It went for a while up to Shrewsbury outbased drivers Gerry Griffiths[ex Joint driver when they were Jones motors] and Ray Cowley.
It was a disguised future Leyland Roadtrain on test.
Had a few trips away with my late father in it.

Looking at the short wheelbase on that Marathon reminds me of the ‘back massage’ they used to give freely, especially when empty! ‘Cab suspension? What’s that? Let the tyres down a bit!’

Hi all,
John Pearce of glyneath, all courtesy of m4dogwalker.

As a trailerboy I travelled thousands of miles in a Mk 3 AEC. How did you manage to shrink it Smallcoal? Crikey, 2 of us used to spend nights out in the cab, huddled under great-coats and old blankets with my feet behind the steering wheel and my seat levelled off with my case and my head on my duffle bag full of washing for my Mam.
Thanks for the excellent photos of the Porthcawl event. Jim.

That was my first artic after passing my Class 1, (I was working for Pearce as a Class 2 driver originally and paid for my Class 1 myself), I passed my test on Thursday the 31st Mar 2005 and was out in this old girl the following Monday.

I was only in her a couple of months before getting this newer shape one due to a driver leaving.

Hi all,
A couple from Rosser of pontlliw…
