not sure of the firm? though these images will mean more to those who know the ynys y gwas and pontrhydafen area.those VOLVO’S had their work cut out on the big hill at ynys y gwas,the beams were 80 tonnes.photos courtesy of david stolworthy…

The Volvos were owned by Tony Hales of Norwich who had the contract to move the beams from Lenwade (which was just outside Norwich) to all over the country, Dave Stolworthy drove for Tony Hales and was one of the nicest drivers you could ever wish to meet

There’s a crane on the back do you think it was the cable firm they had road trains like that that reg is Welsh isn’t it daibootsy would know or ec14 cheers John
