Tanner was Phil Tanner Auto Electric, remember when he was at Valley Carriers depot in Sully Road Barry ,then Broad Street Barry and later at WG Davies’s yard on Penarth Road Cardiff before moving to his Lekwith site

… Easier to sell a company with a black bottom line than a red rolled one… And possibly get more money for it… or is just me taken a cynical tablet off Andrews desk…

That’s quite a find Andrew ! still going strong in another “life” ! We ran one of those 1838’s on six months demo and I thought it was a very decent motor which I would have considered for the fleet but WRM materialised so it sort of disappeared !! Cheers Dennis.

Hi Dennis,
The four in total,38’s they ran from new we’re as I recall, very reliable, though joint had a lot of problems with all of their v6 k,L and M reg motors and started buying Scania and mainly DAF towards the end of trading in December 1998.i also found this on my travels recently.probably best if you look more at the company name than the sheeting itself…

Now that fire’s memories, parked next to THE Echo One in Birtley, at the back of Kwik Save, walk through to the snooker hall with Ken, RIP, learnt a lot from a true gent, and as always on a Tuesday in Leigh, Lanc’s. Good days, Ken with his tool box out, fixing anybody’s CB! Couldn’t have wished for a better mentor

Coming back by pen coed, r s Evans with his tail gate in the back of his tipper looks like it snapped completely
