His father Johnny Morgan i knew better, always had a dai cap on.
He was ill in llandow 1 night in 78 ,i give him a hand connect up and he was off for weeks.
The night trunkers were commenting how bad he looked, amazing that he out lived most of them and drove for is son well past retirement age.
When the rockwool fleet was expanding Brs had 2 21oo box van dafs and 2 ford d box vans ex contracts put on the job.
Johnny asked to give me a start,i tried to explain i was only 15 at the time.

Those Ford d,s must have been a nightmare on multidrop and high winds they looked huge for a rigid,i can see johnny now turning up for work in is yellow carlton. He would berth is caravan on the weekend in tredegar park and come back to work on a saturday night only to return to the caravan.he always told me he joined Brs when the depot was connected to the railway station Bridgend by Chinnocks removals.
I remember Darren and Mark and big Doug.
David
My dad was there the same time as them, there’s a pic of leaning against the runtech Scania on the last page

There was a Graham[ex Mat driver] who run a few pubs after. Chris needed distribution work around Byfleet and London Colney etc for is back loads in High Wycombe.
Bottles for the Bridgend creamery.Years ago i am sure he drove for P and O [Thomas Allen].
David
Yea I remember the bottle runs, and the toilet paper runs they used to do out of Llandow.
IF I remember correctly the fireman was called mark, he had an orange mk2 ■■■■■■ that got nicked from the yard

Morning Geoff, keeping well thankyou, suppose you are busy today with the cowbridge show.Thats a nice cattle motor you have.
When my dad came off outbased in london with dai page it took a few years to get that changeover.John morgan, victor and eddie done it.
Often had a tea in Tony Dorrells house on a friday night. The depot was very tight, backing in on your blind side half an inch off that 141 of JR Smith,s of Tring and all them bowyers vans.
First time i met you Geoff you had 1 of the old 22oo dafs[MWS 917R] on tramp, hard work crawling out of sheerness with a load of pulp on.
Remember that nutter Wayne Street, only bloke i met should be in a straight jacket.
Did you know topper the ex tissue driver has passed on.
Dai
