Cm’on the Boyos you can get to the final and win it ! which is more than the over paid pre madonnas of England can do, even though we beat you in the group match, it was just a Fluke ! Show that [zb] Ronaldo the way home ! Yaki Da ! All the best Bewick.
Hi Dennis,
I’ve never understood the appeal of football tbh, though my son,a mate of ours from Welshpool and myself all watched the game with many Belgian friends on Friday night in Belgium,we were there for the brilliant power on wheels truck festival in aalst.i personally was very proud of our nations performance and our Belgian hosts were very gracious in defeat.
Hi Andrew, you sure get about in that Big Merc ! I think I’ll send you an un-accompanied over to the Hook , now lets see where it is loaded for, Ah! a nice 26 ton one dropper to Munich how would that do ? Clean the cobwebs out of that big “V” don’t you think. We used to have a left ■■■■■■ Scania and an 1844 stay over there for 6 weeks at a time and we just shipped un-accompanied trailers backward and forward which was cheaper on the ferry charges. I’m not a football fan really just follow the big Matches including Rugby, that is a nice shot of your motor, very smart ! Cheers Dennis.
Hi Dennis,
Facebook tells me Pete Cochran was a subbie of yours.

Hi Andrew, I will have to contradict Facebook as this would have been after I had parted company with WRM. I only had two regular Subbies on the European fleet and they were two local brothers Alistair and Ted Littlefair. Alistair ran over the water and Ted shunted the un-accompanied trailers in the UK.Cheers Dennis.

Some more photos of a Catnic truck taken in Caerphilly. The difference with these is they were taken today.
A surprise late Christmas present for Dai Echo from his son David means the Connor family now have a replica of the Scania grandad Ken drove in the 1980’s.
Neil.
Are my eyes deceiving me or is that LV cabbed an N reg ? The A series came out in '72 on the “K” plate so were ERF still building the previous model as well ? Cheers Bewick.

Hi Dennis,
I did wonder the very same thing tbh.I can’t ever recall seeing a 1974 LV in the past.I am guessing lewis’ either registered it a few years after buying it new (popular back then) or bought an unregistered unit that had been standing for some time? When I was last at their yard that ERF was heavily stripped, Good to see it completed. I am told H. Lewis can trace their trading history back to steam powered days.
Regards Andrew.

Your right Andrew there was a bit of “buying and parking up in the corner un-reg’d” it was a way of avoiding tax in those days especially by well established old firms that just marked time and wanted to stay the size they were ! After having a think about ERF’s IIRC there was a model that was sort of a cross-over( interim) between the LV and the A series IIRC the air cleaner body was sort of moulded into the N/s back corner on the cab. And the cab it-self seemed to sit a bit lower than the LV, the grille was also the same as the A Series. K. Fell’s had one which was K reg from memory, driven by the late Alf Bellamy who worked for us from our takeover in '76 until his retirement in '82. Cheers Dennis. The air cleaner I was on about can be seen on the nearside of that ERF in the background which was a K reg 1972 ridged 6 wheeler but the same style of cab was on the Fell unit. The Bewick ERF was.at the time Stoke-on-Trent based and he just about to leave depot one Friday afternoon on his way home.

Yes. Robert
I think we’re onto it Robert but a bit more info would be appreciated, thanks, Dennis.
