Some more photos of a Catnic truck taken in Caerphilly. The difference with these is they were taken today.
A surprise late Christmas present for Dai Echo from his son David means the Connor family now have a replica of the Scania grandad Ken drove in the 1980’s.

A fitting tribute to Ken a great man whom I bought a lot of CB gear from years ago happy new year to the Connor family
I can’t believe how young dai 20 years old kept this a secret for so long while he copied this catnic scania to give to his dad dai senior and echo one rip his grandad would be so proud we drove these exact models together we were best mates for 35 years and I was privaleged to be there when young dai presented it to his dad dai senior and I can tell you I was chocked just like everyone else wat a family grafters everyone of them proud of you all regards rowly ward. Dai you were ell and truly tucked ah ah ah.
Andrew, nice photo of Keith Thomas’s Volvo. Looks like a JCB parked at the side of the containers. The hill behind the truck runs up to what was the testing ground for HY-MACS. Keith took over one of the newest buildings on the old site, although Ryan Transport also had it for a while.
JCB 70 years old last year. JCB being set up by Joseph Cyril Bamford the day his son Anthony was born. Still a private family business, the third largest manufacturer of construction equipment in the world.
hi all,
restoring the p cab catnic scania was in my opinion a wonderful gesture from dai echo’s family,so fitting,i can’t think of anyone who deserves it more than dai does.here is another image posted on my Facebook page by scott whitehouse.k333 jmh was a motor i remember taking to servo steel stourbridge, once when the truck was brand new.a horrid thing imo.driven by long serving joint driver Ron Howells and i think?seen here loaded with lickleys refractories for the abbey……
Hi all,
Well done to young Dai Echo, that little Scania looks superb. What a Christmas present to have!
Andrew, just came across a Classic and Vintage Commercial magazine I bought last Christmas (2014). It says Jan2015 edition.
It has four pages showing the refurbished fleet of ERF ECs that JCB run between factories. Actually past one on my way to Derby.
There is nice F10 featured also belonging to Heath Transport of New Tredegar. The name rings a bell but I can’t remember them. Do you or Neil have any info on them.

I must agree Andrew K333 is not a truck i have fond memories of.
hi john,
happy new year to you and evelyn.good to hear from you again.this one is courtesy of steve j.phillips.
Hi Andrew happy new year to you mate, keep up the good work. That Caddies 8 legger reminded me of a good old mate who was on there for some time, Big Steve ginger haired guy, can’t for the life of me think of his surname. I think he lived in Bridgend, he left Caddies and went on for JR, I think he passed away while working there. Must be a few South Wales boys on here who would remember him.
