Hi all,
We all had another brilliant time in the heat at Hereford truck show.

Who’s the smooth looking Dude on the right ? was he just passing by and got himself stuck on the end " Hey mate stop leaning on my motor you’ll mark it dear oh! dear these ■■■■■■■ tyre kickers" :sunglasses:     Cheers Dennis.

Thanks for the replies. Wales played Yugoslavia in 1976. There is a record of a Gwynne Bowen who died in Pontypool aged 48 in 1976. Does that sound right (I’m not certain about the Pontypool connection■■?)

It can’t have been The Gwynne Bowen as when I was a trailer mate at Brady’s in the late 60’s we were often in their yard with the Octopus and Gwynne was a fairly elderly chap then I recall that all three of them ,Gwynne,Vivian and Jack Reece (Transport Manager) were very decent people and it was Jack that was the bloke that ran the day to day operation and they were our No1 supplier of backloads to the Northwest.Very occasionally we loaded off Trevor G Phillips but it was very rare.Cheers Bewick.

Entress of Swansea. Chris

Here’s a couple Doug Lumsden posted on the Glyn John Transport facebook page. Cardiff Dock depo from the air :unamused: :unamused:  :grimacing:

I remember that yellow foden , it was a cut down six legger , at the time Raymonds took over the transport for metal box Neath including the drivers , several marathons & some oddballs like the foden , it hung around the yard for a while & I believe it was cut up eventually

Hiya,
Now that’s how a working lorry should look a man after my own heart “shining” is for
show motors only, motors on the wash aren’t earning money and if the gaffer wants
a shiny motor doing the job let him come out of the office and get on with it my job
was driver loader deliverer and unloader and that was enough.
thanks harry, long retired.
