retired driver and family friend cliff godwin called into work today and kindly gave me this photo.i can only just remember glyn morgan transport on stormy down.i vaguely recall trucknet member bookworm driving for them alongside ronnie wright,cliff godwin,â â â â hopkins and i think ted champion? i donât think we have seen images of this firm on here before?

Hi Jim ,Clarkes got depots everywhere it wonât be me up that area as we are bridgend based we only cover up to swindon , glos,Cotswold,and Devizes as well as local work ,all our trucks are mercs that all he got ,thanks for acknowledging hope you ok and things are well cheers John

Think they were bought out by Entress in the early 60s , but a bit before my time ! regards keith

I remember seeing a lot of Atkinson L1586s like this in the Swansea area as a kid back in the '60s. There was a red one which used to call in to the Silver Roadways yard at Penllergaer so the driver could collect paperwork. My memory says the name on the cab side was Davies but equally it could have been this one. Then again there was a red one which used to park overnight in Killay near where I lived, but I cannot recall the name. Could well have been Killay Transport of course.
I used to have a copy of this actual picture (taken by Peter Davies by the way) and showed it to my Dad to see if he knew anything about W H Bowen. Sadly no recollection, which may mean he never got work from Silver Roadways.
I put that pic on a while back, W.H.BOWEN a very old firm from Llanelli, they had a yard nr Kingsbridge, they were opp side of Gwynne Bowen down the road abit. the red atkinsons may have been RHYD-y-POLLON, or Llewellyne.G.Gorden from Llanridian.
