Hi rowly,
An iconic classic truck these days and in my opinion a hell of a tool in its day.

Terrific picture that Andrew. They “sat well” with the 3rd axle on didn’t they. Keep them coming, really nice to see them. Adrian

my grandfather drove for john raymond’s for years. His name was Bernard Totterdell just wandering if anyone remembers him sadly passed away last year he ended up before retiring driving this forden here is a picture of me and him in it.

Hello andrew, did you remember the transcon that brunswick plant had around 1974? i will try to see the driver and get some photos.

Brunswick driver is Mike o,brian martial arts expert.

Hello Andrew
I am catching up with the forum, Nice to see you have been on the old queens way which as you said was the main internal road through Llanwern steelworks and is now part of the m4 relief road, The building is the new main office building for Llanwern steelworks ‘Llanwern house’ and was built on part of the old trailer park , the weighbridge was just to the right of your position on the road , hard to believe since all the changes that have taken place.I can remember back to the coal and iron ore convoy days when all the speed ramps had been removed to keep them flowing. Some cracking transcont pics I never realised just how many J&M had. Brunswick plant used to have pwo 120r I believe .Rowly never give up there has to be one out there for you.

regards Tony

I went down there the other week to my cousins at Goldcliffe, it’s changed hell of a lot from when I was a youngster doing a milk round for my Uncle in that area, think it was called Spencer steel works then !
