Godfreys was the Transcon dealer on Newport Rd before being taken over by UBM. Days of Swansea were H series ( Transcon) dealers but didnāt sell many. T D Williams had his first one from Days and there was a guy called Price from Hendy who had 3 from them running on fridge work. Iām not sure but I think W F Hall had thereās from them as well. Of course it was R J Bown who sold the most in South Wales, one of the top 3 selling dealers for H series in the UK!
broadslide they did sell loads of trannys and also used to service them day and night they were a great bunch of blokes regards rowly

Hi all, well Rowley I put in for a diesel fitting apprenticeship with R.J. Bowns back in 1975 right out of school. Trouble was at 16 it was either a bus, train or a nifty 50 to get about on. From the Heads of the Valley down to Caerphilly seemed a long way in them days. I was 5ft 4 at the time and the manager thought it would be to much hassle for me to travel every day.
About two years later I stopped by there to nose at the trucks out front, the same guy came out and asked me what I was doing. I told him I was just checking them out. He said he seemed to think he new me, he didnāt really but by this time I was 5ft 10 3/4, fit as a butchers dog.
It wasnāt worth bring up our previous meeting, but always looked in through the front doors as I passed and felt a little cheated.
Great photoās and comments.
Regards Paul.
