Hi all,
Some more courtesy of John Morgan.i think this marathon was owned by evans transport,a neighbour to J&M .from memory she went well, had a non turbo nhc250 ■■■■■■■■

this one had an AEC Av760 (TL12) it was the 25th marathon built and was (reputed to be ) over 300bhp Allen Evans also later had a marathon with a 250 ■■■■■■■ engine that was STX 972 S

hiya,
Thanks Andrew did drive one very similar as a very young man, the BRS did
tend to keep stuff well past its sell-by date, but well maintained so every
motor you took out was pretty well sure to get you there and back even in
most cases very slowly but according to the shop stewards the miles per
hour you had to achieve was achievable, you know what I mean “Harry”.
thanks harry, long retired.

Hi rowly

Great photos there Andrew. That CVH Transcon takes me back to 1986, I remember hitching a lift from Dover up to the M4 with one of their long serving drivers. I probably mentioned it before, iirc the drivers name was Alf from Machen. Rowly might know him.
Perhaps Rowly will know why so many of CVHs motors were similar in colour to Astrans. They may of been ex Astran motors or ex Astran owner driver motors. Once again iirc CVH worked mostly for Davies Turner, but may of subbed to Astran.

Regards Paul.
