You could well be right about it being Big ■■■■,though I think? That photo is from 1975/76.you will probably recall this accident from the early 1970’s.sadly the driver was killed near the old black rock on the a465,incredibly he had his wife and several children with him,as far as I am aware they weren’t injured.
Andrew ,Youre quite right about the J & M wreck,if I remember correctly he was from the North and it was his first trip.I was told he wasnt sure about the road and took a wrong turning,ran out of control and went down a bank into a tree .He was killed but his family were injured but survived.

Hi mike,
I was very young when that happened,remember being told that the driver was a shunter with J&m in a steelworks in Warrington.the driver and his family had come down to South Wales and after collecting a loaded coiler from ebbw vale he got lost and then this terrible accident happened.i think? Alun griffiths told me it was near blynae or govilion.

HI all,
it was with great sadness yesterday morning that i received the news that Martin Phippard had passed away.A true gentleman who helped me immensley five years ago when i imported my peterbilt 359.i am told that over the years martin sold over 3,000 trucks and filmed them in 89 different countries.during my childhood martin was someone whom taught me so much about trucks via his books and then videos and the last few years dvd’s.i always looked forward to chatting with him at the brilliant bubbleman c.v.r.t.c. events in keynsham and also met up with him many times at the warminster stop on the bournemouth to bath road run.r.i.p. mate.my condolances to his family.

Sad news Andrew. I’m glad that he was able to see all the respect and goodwill shown to him on his birthday last month. Condolances to the family.

My guess 
is the guy in the white shirt is Ron jones and the guy in blue a very young reg wackett,i seem to remember him driving for j&m,though it wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong thanks.
