Hi Andrew, thanks for the photo’s.
A little slow replying, had breakdowns two weeks running with these International Prostars. The maxforce engine has been nothing but trouble.
Supposed to be getting a new Pete next week fitted with a ■■■■■■■■ ISX 15l DPF,EGR and SCR.
The maxforce engine is an old MAN block fitted with Caterpillars defunct fuel system and massive EGR. Didn’t make 2010 EPA regulations, a complete disaster. The 2013 engines are now being fitted with the ■■■■■■■ fuel system as used on their own engines. But a little too late; the damage has been done.

hi paul,
when i read about mechanical troubles,i thought it would be all the emmissions crap have read about problems with cat’s egr.i think that both ■■■■■■■ and cat have left the truck market now.which seems bizarre to me,just to think that either of those brilliant engines are not being used in on the roads anymore .alot of the new kenworths have the daf engine in them.good to hear from you and keep that u.s. mail delivered
regards andrew.

They were actually a subsidiary of T+L too!
Not many of these lads would know that fact Chris ! However I recall that Robsons used to work very closely with Silvers and used their traffic offices as their (Robsons) own,in particular Silvers Liverpool office,I even think they had some of the Silvers telephone numbers on their stationary.Interesting times I would think Cheers Dennis.

Well I would have expected that as an “old salt” “H” you would have known the Silvers/T & L connection, and Robsons hauled a lot of Sugar out of Liverpool years ago,and their subbys used to load it as well,my pal who drove for Wearing Bros. Flookburgh and were Robsons full time subbys and used to bring loads of T & L into the Wholesale grocers in Kendal. All clever stuff “H” eh! Cheers Dennis.
