hi tony,
we are fine thanks.that may well be the manchester shunter daf? though the man in the shot isn’t either of the two that billy hathaway had new.the one in eilir’s photo is n535 twn which was new to my old mate peter lewis.billy had m12 jmh and then s501 sdw ,the joint man’s were good tractors, though not a patch on the 1748!!!
regards andrew.

Aye,past it and in it Andrew. He could slice cheese so thin you could see through it,he had a moustache I think. Would be in the 1970s when I was in and out of BP Baglan and Llandarcy.
This picture is for Bewick,Dennis you may remember? A while back I mentioned joint’s specialy adapted daf shunter driven by the late eddy “Taff” Jenkins that could and regularly did weigh out 28 tonne loads legally at 38 tonnes gross.seen here in her final days as a yard shunter.by this time all the abbey shunting tractors were painted blue and were individually numbered.
This merc was owned by a subbie mark?the daf was either r.d. Burrows or a Manchester based subbie grassmeer motors?going back a bit now
Hi didn’t know joints had a few MANs . Tony
Some pictures of a model in 1-24th scale that I’d wanted to do for a long time but kept putting off, its done now and I’ve even bought a display case for this one.

M440 PTH was a 2438 on rent to Mark Davies of Treoes from Bevans Commercials. The stripes come from D K Haulage (Daryl Kemp) who was subbie with Golden Vale dairies who had it before Mark took it on. iirc
