hello all,
there was also a corona depot in merthyr tydfil opposite merthyr bus garage ,nantygwenith street.
Worked for Corona in Merthyr as a Saturday boy when I was an apprentice. The Bedfords, TKs when I was there, were used for shop sales. On door to door there were Commer Carriers. Spent the winter on door to door, summer on the shop run. Used to drive to Builth Wells early on Saturday morning and work our way back to Brecon. Second lorrywould meet us in Brecon, Swap trucks then work Brecon. Earned as much money in one day as I did all week at my proper job.
borrowed off bubbleman.

Hi Graham and Alan.
Alan I was expecting you to reply to this. Do you remember another pop company on the A470 closer to the college on the left hand side as you headed to town. It was on the roundabout and the river Taff ran behind it.
They ran Leyland FGs 6 cylinder ones, with the nose sticking out the front. They had light green cabs with white bodie’s iirc. The name might of started with a
G, and some how dandylion and bordoch pop rings a bell. The colour was aubergine, and their bottles different to Corona’s.
In the mid 70s Alpine pop did a door to door service with mustard coloured TKs. They were having more stuff stolen off the back than they could sell.
Regards to all,
Paul

Hi Graham, I am doing well thanks. Gay Day, thats the one.
Not sure if they are still in business, if not the company name would be worth a fortune these days.
Regards Paul.
