with that old girl it wasn’t long before it got kitted out with “Michies” 900x20s,
no doubt at great expense, lovely old motor though.

Corona was a brand of carbonated beverage available in the United Kingdom and produced by Corona Soft Drinks. The firm was created by Rhondda grocers William Thomas and William Evans when they saw a market for soft drinks caused by the growing influence of the temperance movement in South Wales. The company’s first factory was based in Porth, and eventually the company had 87 depots.[1]

Corona was bought in 1958 by The Beecham Group and subsequently by Britvic Soft Drinks in 1987.[2] It was particularly popular during the 1970s and was famous for delivering its product door to door by “the Corona Man”.,[3] much like a milk round. The drink was available in several flavours, including the original orangeade and later lemonade, limeade and cherryade. One of their advertising slogans was “Every bubble’s passed its FIZZical!”

After the dissolution of the company the original factory was

CORONA POP was in Fforestfach trading estate,as you go down kingsway, first left for signode, corona was on the right corner building.you would always see the scammell crusader parked on the side of building. billy barrs, drove the bedford.

Yeh we had a depot in Chesterton, stoke on Trent. Had the little Bedfordshire and a old atki, with the trailers ur mentioned, then came the mighty crusader, 2 drivers on it, can’t remember where they used to run. Remember though as a kid going with the glyn John drivers from stoke depot into corona at tamworth many a time, almost sure you used to load 1970 tins of whatever, glyn John even had a warehouse opposite their stoke depot at one time for storing it for them. Done many a Saturday though in one of them bedfords, passenger seat was a box if I remember right with a cushion on and a little cushion behind you {
