morning andrew.
is that the new viaduct in the south of france there?,i have been threatening myself and the manageress a visit down there at some stage.
graham.

hi graham,
kelvin took that picture at what looks to me? like the egratz viaduct near chamonix.it’s quite a view looking down to the steelworks from there :sunglasses: .this is in southern france and very near the italian border. maybe the new viaduct you mention is the millau? which is a fair bit south of the egratz.the millau cuts i think? 80 miles off the previous route. i haven’t been over that one, yet.like you been threatening for a while though
regards andrew.

hi all,
my mate stan loaded this in lynemouth tyneside this morning, thanks for the crap picture mate

hi graham,
that millau viaduct is an awesome sight.a customer of ours has vehicles using it several times a month and says it’s a revelation for them.it was designed by an english architect sir norman foster.would love to go over there in my peterbilt  :sunglasses: .looks a long way down though :exclamation:

Hi mike,
Thanks, Sid Evans passed away 6 years ago this December,so it has been a while.alun will be calling in again tomorrow and he also looks in on our thread regularly.my father mentioned Viking transport today,I had forgotten about them  they ran early 110 Scania’s along with monarch,I think? They were based in llandow? Any info on them?
Regards Andrew.

Hello Andrew,I dont remember Viking Transport at all.At the time Monarch were running out of the Abbey Works I used to run with them regularly as well as shunting in Port Talbot. Perhaps they didnt carry steel.

Hi mike,
I think Len Tyler drove for Viking, used to see an atki parked in the large layby at bryntyrion many years ago, they were red/ maroon colour,I thought they worked out of the abbey and were ■■■■■■■ with monarch  a bit like protheroe’s and northways transport.

hi andrew
viking transport did not last very long they were yellow scanias i think smiths enterprises had a share in them
they did not do much in the abbey
regards tony
