Hi dave,
Thanks for sharing them mate.i never knew there were that many cranes on port talbot dock.
the crane is one of the old iron ore gantries for 1-2-3 blast furnace the dock was in front of the cranes i think that the yellow tankers might have been hatters but im not sure
Dave the Renegade:
Another long serving driver whose name escapes me.
The boss Miss Jean Sharples.
These are just a few of the vehicles that Sharples ran.
the tippers use to fetch moulding sand down and reload steel back the tipper sides use to fold down
Yes thats right , John Williams sands at Bromsgrove, initially via F W Cartwright of Stourbridge.
Joint Motorways when they ran tippers backloaded out of John Williams as well regards kk

the chap in the yellow was a jointâs fitter, malcom davies, about 7 or 8 of us were on hand to clear the carnage.
Hi all,
Last Friday at only 59 years of age Malcolm Davies sadly passed away Malcolm a.k.a big bird had spent his working life in the haulage industry and was a very well known popular guy,he was both a fitter and driver for joint motorways for many years, working along side his brothers tony and Paul.malcolm did many trips abroad with joint.i can recall him being sent out to bring back the broken down and damaged motors from all over the uk and mainland europe.tony davies malcolmâs elder brother and jointâs transport manager kindly called into work last saturday to tell me the sad news and agreed to let me post these few words about a good friend who will be remembered fondly by all he once knew r.i.p. malc.
